I think that\'s \'Led zeppelin\' there at the top. And I see what are probably \'The Gorillaz\'. But I\'m probably wrong like usual.

Tyrnal can strike down about any player doing 150 damage with each hand ... then again he is far from the only powerful warrior and there are many who could strike him down just as easily so in the end a duel would have came down to pure luck or who lagged the least.

Yes, I\'m going to stomp over Kythag\'s thread with my nonsense again.

Which arouses the already over-molested subject of the uber weapons lying around in every grocery bin you happen to stumble over, that I don\'t really need to go into.

But let\'s say for arguments sake (yes I\'m aware that this idea is no where on the road yet, if ever, Karyuu) that a band of power-leveled do-badders decided that it would be spiffy to march into Hydlaa and take the place over, (which brings me to the idea of player-run cities *cof*) not fun right? Then think of how fun it would be if a band of \'heros\' got together to fight back? (I say that would be fun) Then say that the heros lost... all is bad in the world? Well I dunno, think about it, there has to be the rise and fall of tyranny, the crumbling of kingdoms (in this case one city...) there can\'t be the all safe, all secure town where everyone comes to be all safe and all secure. I, personally, think that it would be all these calamities, such as a dictator over Hydlaa, bandits along the Oja road, (lord that would be fun) that would just help immerse you more into the RPing aspect of the game, rather than just the power-leveling. Ok, that\'s now four cents I\'ve given.

And as for the main subject, which I never really got to...

The idea of actually RPing your character in an RPG is a concept forlorn to all but thems that actually have a character. A real character who they can realate to, have a history written for them, ect. the average person plays an RPG to beat up monsters and chat-speak on public channels, not actually play a character in a different world. And if this grotesque misunderstanding of the art of role-playing wasn\'t bad enough, they take the burden upon themselves to spread their gaming poison to the rest of us, continually insisting that their way of doing things is best. Therebye affecting honest (or dishonest depending on your character) players on the road of sanctification, and twisting them to the forces of evil. And so, when a true RPer such as Kythag meanders along, there is conflict in their ideals. And of course conflict opens questions, and through questions arrive possibilities. And of course possibilities are much too frightening for any pseudo-gamer. I say, that if you want to button mash/hack \'n slash, buy an Xbox, and rent Fable. Anyway, just my six cents now.

I am in absolute agreeance with you as far as realism in the RP is concerned. And frankly I personally would like to see free PvP zones everywhere. And yes, I know you\'ll scream at me that there would be non stop murdering from power-leveled players, but I can explain.

For instance, you don\'t take your dog for a walk and start sinking axes into the skulls of the elderly do you? (lets hope not) why you ask? Because (remember this is speaking fom a sociopath\'s point of view) there are consequenses for these sort of things, at the very least you\'re introduced to the iron bars for life or quartered and hung as would be most likely in the current time setting of PS (And aside from that there\'s the far worse fact that it\'s frowned upon by society in most cases).

So, if a form of player-made or official police ever wormed it\'s way into the game, would it really be practical to start winging shirukens at random passerbys? And besides that there are plenty of do-gooder heros on the streets and out of work. It would also help those jobless evil-cleavers into a line of work, for instance if villianous players had taken it upon themselves to rid the world of fat merchants (Hey, RPing isn\'t all hack \'n slash) passing along highways, call upon thems that sleep on their shield to escort you. (It would also be really fun to be the highway men themselves).

So, after that thouroughly useless rant (as no one will agree with me) I think PvP zones everywhere would be fun. Just my two cents.

And yes I know this is probably the wrong thread to post this in, and I\'ll be killed and eaten by pencil-weilding devs for suggesting such an outrageous consumption of time, and be shot and stomped on by letter weilding forum-goers for what they\'d probably consider spamming, but meh.

Mac OSX Specific Issues / Deprived of my loot.
« on: November 27, 2005, 04:57:55 am »
I don\'t know whether this is Mac specific or not, and yes I did search the forum and can\'t find another thread like this. Anyway here\'s my problem:

I can\'t seem to loot or trade, ( or alot of other things I\'m sure I haven\'t listed ) Every time there\'s actually something on the bodies I try to loot the game shuts down and I get the following report:

The application psclient quit unexpectedly after it was reopened.

Same with trading.

Anyway, like I said, I don\'t know if there\'s another thread like this and I just didn\'t look hard enough.

Not to put down opinion... but that looks terrible. Stereotypical appeal to public demand would be putting it lightly.

The thread was off-topic a while back but if the god of topics frowns upon it I won\'t press the issue.

An unintentional implication. I was adressing... for lack of a better word... society as a whole, the post was not aimed at any individual. A bit of a subtle statement about society in there for myself. And I\'m not against all vegitarians, I just occasionally become annoyed at the reasons they give for being a vegitarian. Not saying anything against you. But seeing as you are most certainly are against the killing of animals, I have a question. What are your views on abortion?

Well each to his own I suppose, and I\'m still not going to argue about it, as I\'m well aware no one here is going to relinquish their view of things. If only for the sake of pride and nothing else. I\'m also well aware that nothing I say is going to even produce a little questioning of views, after all, questions are scary things.

An environmentalist shpeel. Fantastic. I won\'t say anything however, as I\'m still new and dis-respected. But if you intend to talk about the \'creator\' I suggest you pick up that scary book that\'s all about him, and speak from an educated point of view next time.

I suppose any idea of little jokes in my posts should be dropped then...

Anyway, I stand firm with the fact that Sony shall destroy Microsoft in the end. And all will be well with the world.
