I'm too stubborn to ask for help unless I absolutely have to.
That sounds SO much like me. XD I usually look for walkthroughs and guides before i go asking anyone for help, if i even do that. most the time i just stumble around in the dark till i find a light.

A person who will do whatever it takes to achieve his goal.
They fuel the in game economy.
They make the game feel more alive.
That doesn't sound like one to me, but like said before we all have our own definitions. What your describing sounds to me more like someone who prices everything very highly to raise the market value. Usually this leads into making it harder to aquire items. Thus people end up giving into buying from gold farmers (or what ever currency the game may have). The type of PLers i disclosed in my last post don't contribute anything to a game. and are only there to rush to the end and get bored, possibly making money providing a service to other players that goes against the games EULA. A laxxed game development company like Sony usually falls victim to this often. EverQuest 1 is a prime example.

I remember my first time in the DR 1-2 years ago. I fell off the platforms to the nothingness below and met others who also got stuck down there. There was no way back to the platforms above. We had a GM come but they didn't get us out even though we weren't supposed to be down there. Eventually we all just killed ourselves and started over from the entrance. One of them even said he was gonna draw a map to give to people. I wonder what became of that idea.

Had this problem yesterday. I liked how they worked NPC dialog in oldschool EverQuest. Everything your suposed to talk about is listed in brackets like this [].

-Funny Example-
Guard, Says "Hail citizen. Welcome to freeport. Stay away from [boomba]."
You, Say "boomba"
Guard, Says "Aye. That large [ogre] over there who's sellin pickles. If you get to close you might be the next thing he pickles."
You, Say "ogre"
Guard, Says "Now don't be makin me explainin ya what an ogre be... Go frolic with a [gnoll]."
You, say "gnoll"
Guard looks around paranoid and lost for words.

My definition of a powerleveler in ANY online game, not just PS: Someone who rushes to the end of the game without taking the time to look at it. They usually make it to the maximum level of the game within a week. If they find the game too challenging to achieve this goal, they usually go onto youtube and complain on videos on the game how much it sucked in comparative to WoW...

I might have stretched the definition just a little but I've met a few like this.

Linux Specific Issues / Re: Updater can't find mirrors
« on: November 01, 2007, 02:15:09 pm »
If the updater isn't working it should be removed from the installer in the future to avoid confusing players like me who don't visit on a daily basis to know about the latest news. I re-downloaded this morning after not playing for a long time. The updater didn't connect so i searched the forum and found this topic and checked each mirror to find their version.dat's missing. The good side of this situation is nobody can say the problem is on my end. Thats usually a cop-out used worldwide. If the game don't work, then it absolutely must be your computer. :)
