I stayed until the server disconnected, which was around 6 minutes(?). And the problems stayed all the way through.

Beremat wakes up from his long, unexplained sleep. He finds out about his loss...

He travels to the grave and sheds a single tear, from which a small stem grows.  :'(

[So I finally come ack from 0.3.012, and you're gone  :'( :'( :'( You were an awesome friend and will be missed.]

And graphics were all screwed up. Basically, it looked the same way it used to when your drivers are old, but I have the newest drivers for the 6xxx series and it's screwed up. Should I downgrade?

On my computers, it has to do with onboard sound. With the comps with the onboard sound, it has static for the first ~5 minutes and then it stops.

God, I can't wait for the servers to come back up. I haven't played since 0.3.012.

Complaint Department / Easy Hacking Loophole
« on: June 22, 2007, 02:18:20 am »
Just a few days ago I saw a dermorian running at a very quick speed. It was NOT lag, I could see his animation clearly, walking about 5 times my speed. No stuttering.
I hope I won't get in trouble for this, but I tested a program called "Speedgear" on PlaneShift for about 3 minutes. I successfully speedhacked the game without any difficulty. Of course, I didn't continue doing that!

There should be a hacking resistance in PS. I don't know how to implement this, but it would be useful. Programs such as SpeedGear, CheatEngine, etc. should be banned.

Placing the rar parts inside one file would defeat the purpose of the whole website.
The purpose is if people can not download very large files and need to download smaller parts. These parts are roughly 10Mb each with the last part being 3.5MB, making them fairly small and quick to download for dial-up users.

Hello everyone, I have downloaded PS first when I had Dial-up. I still remember waiting a week for the download to finish. So, I have decided to help Dial-up users download the game.

I have Used the program "WinRAR" to divide the Installer into several pieces, roughly about 10MB each. I have uploaded them to a server. It can be found here: http://planeshift.110mb.com
There is enough bandwidth for 500 full downloaded files. The instructions are on the site.

@Devs and Moderators: Feel free to post this in the list of mirrors on the front page. If you do, credit me, please :)

edit: WHAT THE?! WHy did I post this in the Problems section?! Mods, please move this.

Maybe I could try to Rar it into pieces? that was you dont have to download a huge 200+MB file, but 10 20MB files. I'll try that later today.

Edit: Okay, I'm Raring the files up now. Do you have Winrar? If not, go to google.com and search for it. Download the free 40-day trial version.

Edit2: Uploading :) Will take about an hour. Mods, feel free to post this on the main site. But it will probably run out of bandwidth quickly. But still :) There will be anough bandwidth to download 431 total downloads.

Plus, (heh heh heh) with a name(heh heh heh) like "The Kranicles" you'd(heh heh heh) be the laughing stock of Yliakum. I'm sorry. I can't stop laughing. I think Karyuu should start the Enkiducles, and I'll start the Lemuricles. Dermoricales... Yliacles... Ynnwacles... This is cracking me up. :D :D :D

I'm sorry, it just struck me that way... Don't take it personal, I'm sure it's a very respectable name and you'll do fine with it.

So, any plans as far as purpose or ranks or history or standards for members, or etc. etc. etc.?

Yay!!!

It was supposed to be funny... I didn't mention it becaue I thought people wouldn't laugh... but... :D

Well to attract more members like newbies we will host a party next weekend for the first 10 pnewbies  that join-a set of a selected basic weapon.
For those more experienced players, 1k should do it.
It will probably also be a place for more experienced Krans to come and help new players... I think it would be easier to help them from the same race if they have the same general stats... We're still deciding ranks, but we think it will mostly be about rocks and stuff like "Sturdy Rock" and stuff.
