Well many of you think there are only two sides in life, good and evil; however, there is more then just that.

We Norse men fight for good, but that does not mean its the same good some other guilds rely on. One of this guild fights for the expansion of our people, silver, and gold. We fight to the die and we don\'t run away, for running away is what the Anglo-saxons do.

Odin, Thor, Frey, Freya, Heimdall, Ull, Mimir, Baldr, Frigga, Njord, Bragi, Nanna, Eir, Modi, Forseti, Tyr and others are among the gods one of this guild. Of those we follow Odin and Tyr more so, bravery and strenght in battle is what they provide.

We seek not just warriors but other heroes as well, such as Skalds to sing us into battle with renewed strenght. Raise our spirits and conquer the enemy. A poet who can think up songs on the spot.

Ones devoted to Odin, The beserkers are also of much importances. The way to Valhalla is from a brave death. Devoted Warriors who fear nothing know Odin is protecting them.

If one wishes to join then they would leave information about themselves in here. Roleplaying is a must.

It\'s a Pagan Holiday ruined by commercialism
The general idea of the holiday now is to prove you love someone by giving them an object of value, they will love the object and ignore your faults, thus loving what you buy them instead of loving you.

I am likely to know more about Norse Mythology then everyone here, Norwegian or not. I\'ve studied it intensively, and one thing must be said. Dwarves were maggots that grew from the corpse of Ymir, which is Midgard(our earth). Them along with trolls and other creatures that grew from the armpits of Ymir were banished from walking during the day, if the sunlight hit them they would turn to stone.  The female dwarves don\'t have beards in Norse mythology. There are very few mentions of female dwarves.

Maybe in Nerd Mythology(D&D) they might.

Whoa! Americans are being killed! I guess american lives are more important then other peoples, considering 500,000 people in Iraq died from starvation after The US and UN applied sanctions on the country.

I guess its Saddam\'s fault because he didn\'t figure out a way for his people to eat oil or sand. Having barely anywhere to grow food is no excuse! He should invent new ways to cook sand.

And having all 10 americans killed in the Gulf war! What kind of lunatic thinks of killing the important americans besides americans themselves? Who \"accidently\" killed 100 of their own troops.

It\'s not like Iraqi lives are worth anything, because one american life is worth 100,000 Iraqi.

(Notice; this is sarcasm in reply to some person with below average intelligence implying previously on this thread saying \"Americans are being killed\")

I didn\'t think there was a difference between 8th and 9th. Nor did I think all 8th graders believe whatever propaganda that blows their way!

Collaborative Stories / The Battle...

I looked up to the stars as I heard the screams of my comrades falling to their deaths. I then saw the battlefield. The men slashing each other, falling down screaming.

The battle suddenly ended, their men retreated as more of us came in, the retreating men splattered everywhere. At thick red liquid was painted all over the field. I gave out a loud battle cry as I began to run towards the enemy. I was a follower of Odin, the lord of the slain, and god of wisdom, battle, runes, and poetry. If I had a choice of my death I would die bravely in battle and go to Valhalla where I would fight without death and consume all the pork and mead that I could ever dream of. I laughed as I saw my comrades fall, there were going to this place. I kneeled beside a fallen soldier and pulled the axe out of his head when I was suddenly stuck by an arrow.

I woke up expecting to be greeted into Valhalla. I saw a large cluster of object moving towards me. It became bigger and faster. It must have been at least 5 minutes till I notice what it was. I realized I was still alive, lying on the field, wounded. It was the other group, they were suppose to be here to support us, an unorganized yet ultimately successful raid. Too late for their taste of battle. They helped me up, I grabbed hold of the axe that I took out of the soldier\'s head, and used it as a walking stick to get back to camp.

It was a small temporary camp, we only planned on using it for   3months, after this final attack we would head home. We had gather a large portion of silver and gold from the our raids. Some members went to a farm that night and took 20 pigs in all. We had a feast, mead and pork. It was great, never was I so delightfully full. I must of passed in and out of consciousness several times that night.   I went to my tent and fell fast asleep.

In the morning I arisen, we grabbed everything and put it into our long ships. There was great happiness among everyone, a successful raid and now returning home to our families. We decided to take the English course home, which is just taking the North Sea to Norway. Before we sent out we prayed to Njord to allow safe voyage across the seas. Njord was an understanding and helpful god, not one drop of rain did touch our ships\' journey home.

Home, I missed the the tender smell of freshly turned dirt from my farm. I was returning home. I couldn\'t wait, soon I was about to be back at my farm.

We hit the shore took our portions from the raid and headed to our farms.
