You still need the book for that. But now molting iron doesn't gives practice points anymore. But anyone with the book can make iron stock and making any stock is the only of getting practice points now.
That's odd. I'm level 0 metallurgy, fully trained and have the 'working with stock' book in mind.
I can melt iron ore, but when i try to cast it, all i get is a 'pile of dust'.

So how should i raise my level then?

*edit*
Nevermind. Stupid me... i was placing my molten iron in the forge, instead of casting stock.
Got it now.  :whistling:

Newbie Help (Start Here) / Re: Jump while running possible?
« on: February 05, 2007, 03:13:40 pm »
I am using left shift.
So, should I be able to jump while running?

*edit*

Just did a little test in a text document.
when i hold the left shift, up arrow and press the space bar it doesn't register as a key press.
So i remapped jump to "W" (on a azerty keyboard, that's Z on a qwerty) and that works just fine.

So it seems to be a hardware problem....

Newbie Help (Start Here) / Jump while running possible?
« on: February 05, 2007, 12:24:00 am »
Are we supposed to be able to jump while running?
I've been out of the game for a while and just picked it up again and i remember not having any trouble jumping over the pipe in the sewer, until now  :sweatdrop:

I can jump while walking, I can hold shift and jump (higher), but while running (shift+arrow key) when I press the space-bar nothing happens....

Any thoughts?

I would not suggest installing the tools (cal cal, etc) systemwide but rather put them in a development enviroment (e.g. a folder in you home dir).
They don\'t need to be installed, IF you provide planeshift with the needed path variables before booting it.

Read the compile docs that came with the planeshift sourece to get a better understanding.
you can eighter write a scrip wich exports all the paths each time before loading PS, or add the variables to your console rc script (e.g. ~/.bashrc).

Couldn\'t load plugin for PlLayer.

seemsto be CEL related so i checked out the binaries/cel/bin folder and found the \'celtst\' script, so i ran that and got a fatal error: \"CEL physical layer missing\".

Ok guys, this is a fault in cel. One of the files on the cvs is corrupt or something, so when you download it, you don\'t get it properly. To solve this just download the nightly snapshot of cel and compile it instead of the cvs one you have.

Get the latest one:

http://cel.sourceforge.net/cvs-snapshots/bzip2/cel-current-snapshot.tar.bz2

Maybe your script should get the snapshot, instead of a cvs checkout...
