that seems a pretty dismissive take on a good idea, as though you want the poster to play the way you do. but wouldn\'t the game be richer if it accomodated different technical styles and preferences?

i like the idea, and second it. anything that speeds communication (especially while providing an opportunity to minimize mistakes) will enhance role-playing.

actually i was wondering if this kind of space filling (i wouldn\'t have the slightest clue as to it\'s technical term... collision detection?) might be implemented for bodies generally. it\'s kinda wierd walking through people. if everyone can fit in the same space, then the society would just build one or two of the few archetypes of lovely dwellings, etc, and everyone would cram in there... i know i know... willing suspension of disbelief... :}

i think that\'s a great idea. and not just for 2D or audio art, either. the degree of \"relinquishment\" could be quite variable ranging from \"we need someone to design four gates in such and such file format, these were the ideas and sketches\" to \"design an entire dsar for the klyrosi quarter\" to \"develop a rules framework for the creation of objects or the modification of buildings/landscapes by characters\" (architects and gardeners, right? :} )

as a kinda related idea it might be nice to have a small \"sandbox\" type server to explore new ideas, and let um... _alpha_ playtesters examine and give feedback to dev-team or designer/coder contestants before polishing and integrating into the beta/main release.

peace out,

the general idea is good, but why not just make maximum speed a smooth function of stamina (and slope, and encumbrance, etc.)? That way a chased character gets run down slowly, instead of in disjoint steps.

the same concept could be applied to jumping (how high, pause required between jumps, etc.)

finally: it would be nice if different PCs, NPCs and Beasties all had variable maximum speeds, jump heights, etc. the average unladen air-speed velocity of a european swallow varies from individual to individual (that is: there are within individual averages, and between individual averages).
