Awesome! I can\'t wait. Hopefully the servers get put back up soon.

Do you know what caused the crash though? (ie: just general hardware failure, DDoS Attacks, DoS Attacks, just some fluke, etc)

Well good luck with the servers. I\'m excited! :D Wish I could help you guys code. But I don\'t know any code :(

To add a point to CEO Loide\'s post.

Or is the new server up and running, but we\'re waiting on MB to be able to make use of it?

To that respect fanomatic, I\'ll play the tune. I don\'t want to hear 1000 NPC\'s say the same 6 lines over and over again. Do NOT get me wrong, if those 1000 NPC\'s are scattered quite well throughout the world, where it isn\'t a \'constant\' annoyance (reference to morrowind) then yeah, it would be ok to have those same 1000 NPC\'s all say similiar (hopefully not the exact SAME thing)

However, I also understand and realize the kind of creativity it would take to well create that many varied responses / situations / text inputs.

To the end result though, neither of you, despite your concidered comments, have answered the question.

What will be implemented to make this a Role playing game, and not a hack and slash. I understand, as well it seems, that true role playing in the sense of table top, where you and your buddies are laughing out loud at the DM\'s horrid pronunciation of the word \'about\' is something you can never get on a computer. But you can get a lot of the same, albeit generic, feel of a RPG.

Admittedly I have no idea\'s at present what could be thought of to add to PS that\'ll make that feel more vivid. Hopefully, someone can think of something and post it here. Who knows? Maybe that one idea makes Planeshift so incredible once implemented, that it top\'s charts for years to come.

What, if any (I realize this is early in the developmental stage) thought have you given towards the actual role playing aspect of the game?

For example what, if any, in-game ideas / deisgn mechanics, do you want in-game that\'ll make it more attractive to actually \'role-play\' instead of just go out and level, either alone or in groups.

Majority of MMORPG\'s end up being simply hack-n-slash games with a LOT of people.

Again, just so the question is clear:
What types of idea\'s / in-game mechanics do you have / want in place to make this a true role playing game (as much as possible) rather than another hack -n- slash adventure rpg?

I hope this doesn\'t sound like a \'darnit why isn\'t MB here, hurry your butts up!\'

But I am curious, about how far along are you guys on MB and what, in your eyes, still needs to be done? Possibly give us a list of features that you want to have implemented, make the ones that aren\'t yet in (but are going to be in) in like red, the rest in green, those only part-way done in orange something like this:
  • completed item
  • unfinished item
  • not yet added item
Or if there is already an updated list like this, then by all means direct me too it.

I agree with Boonet, complaining about what someone does in their spare time is ridiculous, and rather arrogant. This is free, they are doing this as a \'hobby\' for all intents and purposes. If I could code a lick, I\'d help out in a heart-beat, alas my only real skill is in coding webpages ( I can\'t draw to save my life, and I don\'t know any C++ :( ).

So there it is, unless you can code, or want to contribute some other way, then stop complaining. BTW, if you\'re helping with something NOT code related (ie: not working with the physical code of the game) then don\'t bother complaining either. As it won\'t do any good if for say you\'ve decided to help with the webpage. It won\'t speed the game\'s development up in the slightest.

Something I noticed in .004. There is no masking for PW\'s. If memory serves me correctly, that should be as simple as changing the input type for the password, from text, to password. Which would auto-mask (using *\'s). Of course, I could be thinking of HTML form elements, which is what you\'d have to do in that situation.

Anyway, is .004 Molecular Blue? Or is there another release \'scheduled\' to be MB?

BTW - I\'m new here, so howdy to everyone :D
