Mac OSX Specific Issues / Re: Planeshift 0.3.19 released!

I know nothing of this stuff, but the only error I see in my console log is that an image isn't found; not sure which kind, but if that's found, then wouldn't it start up without error?

« on: November 05, 2006, 01:35:20 pm »
Trust me, with the Burning Bobcat Down there, nothing's going to ever be gay for you. Ever again.

Anyway, yeah. It's still there. Deal with it, don't die if you're not into a really awesome realm of the dead. Fine with me...

In-Game Roleplay Events / The Burning Bobcat
« on: November 04, 2006, 04:10:12 am »
The Burning Bobcat is a new tavern in the Death Realm, sharing space with the library. Yes, it does have a story behind it:

Hello. My name is Erotate Fenkin, and I am a travelling bartender. I simply travel between Kada's and Th' Broken Door and serve people. Well one day, this all went wrong. It started at Brado's Tavern, in the center of Akkio. I was rushing into the place to find out if this 'rat shortage' was the real deal or not. It most certainly was! So Brado called the closest guy he could find: me. So now I had to find all the rats that have gone missing? Oh joy. The first place I looked was inside the warehouse, just east of the tavern. Inside I found a male Enkidukai named Rokujin, who had just finished fighting a beast, and was badly wounded.
"Hurry! Take this!" I yelled, as I gave him the red healing potion. I then made the hand signs for Life Infusion and the old chap was ready in no time.
"Your weapon looks pretty beat up..." I remarked. Then he turned to me and asked, "Are you able to fix it?" As I was about to reply, a demorian named Delrin came by. I took hold of him and gave him to Rokujin, "I'm sure he can!" And I ran off.
As I looked for the rats, I came up to nothing. When I returned to Brado, I told him the story. He told me to buy all the drinks and go off to Kada's, I wasn't wanted there anymore. So off I went, on a journey to one of my favorite places in all of Yliakum. As I was in the middle of the path, a small team of rogues ambushed me, attracted by the liquor! I had some skill from the battles in Makallano but not enough to beat all these rogues! I started to run for my life. Then I turned around, and had a plan. I used Crystal Way to blind them, and took a secret path. When I eventually made it to Hydlaa, it seemed as if everyone was missing. Then I came to Kada's to find nothing different. I checked in and went to hide duty in the sewers, hoping to find soemthing interesting. I sure did! The rogues came from all over, this time very mad. As I tried to claw my out, I felt a searing pain in my chest, and looked down to see an axe. Then the leader took his shield and stabbed me several times, and eventually all I saw was darkness. When I awoke, I was very much surprised. Surprised that I had awoken at all, and at the place I was in! Everything was rusty and evil...not exactly what I was willing to go for. As I wandered around tthis strange place, I stumbled upon a huge library! When I finally came to my senses, I knew that if Kada's was going to abandon me and Brado was going to shun me, I had to create competition. So for all those dead souls, I created The Burning Bobcat.

OoC: I am currently hiring! Ask in-game, behind the counter of the library. We need bartenders, waiters, and traders to bring in the goods. Pay will be discussed. And also, guests are welcome, obviously. You will be seated in many different places, but mainly on top of the bookcases. And remember, to keep this space in the library we must not be too loud. Some people come to...dun dun duuuuuuuuun...read!
Note: Salary is based soley off of payment of customers and traders will receive pay after their product is sold.

IC: So come if you dare, and be ready for a strangely satisfying experience.

Maybe(eventually, mind you....)there should be some part in the arena where there is a room(or an added story) where you have auto accept...there is a warning before entering the door, and then you coud take out your blood-thirsty rage there... it's not random fighting on the streets but it's still barbaric and primitive, just the way ya like it.    ._.

5
Well, if we were, then I guess it'd be fair when the NPC servers are down. But...I do not believe we are, Sir Cendrick.

6
Okay, thanks for the lesson, and this thread shouldn't quite be deleted(yes closed) just so no one else asks the same thing...seems like it could be common some day.

Wish list / Re: I doubt I'm thinking well...but signs?
« on: August 22, 2006, 02:37:41 am »
Hey is it just me that noticed..."screwing a cow" might be good for me...being a kitty after all and there's no milk in Akkio  :'(  And you've got the idea...except it was aboit 8 years ago, when all the current Enki were little kitties :) And now there's a Kran Warlord in hiding to find who controls the ulbers(to DESTROY!!! .V. ), and it's all going to be player controlled... I guess a better idea would be to have guards guarding newbs who want to shop, and then letting the experienced players take em out, but the shop owners will mainly be selling swords, armour, healing potions, etc., so it's pretty much just a mission to bring life back to there I suppose, even if so called Makallano isn't there ;) But I'm all for discussing, especialy with people who want to help.

Hey why not...I'll join as a good individual. I'll tell my guild about this...maybe we'll sign up.

I have bad typing, I simply do it too fast without checking it over  ;D But anyway, I think I'll just handle it myself, making this thread null and void. And again, yes my lesson is learned that the forums are nicer than others...if bringing some shops there is bad, then PM me, but if you don't mind, please delete this thread, it's a waste of bandwidth.

That's indeed what I get. Not a new city, but RPing that that was what it used to be. Since it's not official, it's all kind of pointless...

Wow come night...and yeah, sorry about saying that, wasn't in my right mind eh heh....but now I understand, so this can be deleted, I doubt it shows example to anyone else of something not to say.  :sweatdrop: /me walks off in embarrasment
EDIT: There is a history, though, but it's kind of pointless to say, just because, well I see yuor point now...but I have one more question...would it be bad to keep up in the RP about it and solely inhabit it?
EDIT2: And I couldn't be sorrier about the way I thought you guys would react, I come from mean forums where they would have responded in the way I described...lesson learned, the Planeshift forums are very nice.

Hey! I'm trying to bring a bit of civilization to the ruins(which I will refer to a Makallano.... :P Yeah I know it's not official and I have no authority, but I don't believe there is currently a background to them...correct?) by finding people to set up shops and buisinesses. It will be great for roleplay, because the shop owners(by choice of coruse! Jeez don't give me that look...) will be real people, with real schedules, not like harny and his disappear act. But I was wondering if someone could set up signs once we get a few buisinesses? I'm not thinking of anything specific... I don't know what would be better, Weapon Repair, or "so-and-so's" Weapon Repair, but that's not much of a matter. There will also be part time guards, making sure that the ulbernauts don't kill the shoppers, and if there's a training buisiness, then by all means...so that's all the help I'll need, if someone is willing to give it(I doubt this takes a new client, just a small update, right? If it takes a client than stop me right here...). Any questions, please ask, any answers, please post, and I might put some other things if I forget them in this post...but I think it'd be an easy way out for a new town, especially because it's "New Makallano". [deleted for jerkiness]

Single Author Stories / Erotate's On-Going Role-Play
« on: August 19, 2006, 03:36:51 pm »
This is a role-play goal I made, and now if you see some of it occuring on the side of the road, you'll know what's going on.

Setting: Erotate Birthday, 8 years ago.
It was a peaceful day in Yliakum, in Erotate's town boundries of course.
The farmers were able to stop complaining, the merchants took a break, and Warriors were off of training. It was a special day; the day of the town's founding. All was well; after all, it was just a small village along Ojaveda Road, though many Enkidukai strived there. One day, though, evil came from the east. Huge armies of Ulbernauts and their leader; a Kran Warlord. "Everyone! Take your families and retreat! We'll hold them off!" The village's strongest Warrior had said. Many families had escaped, but becuase many of the Fenkins were Warriors, it was the same thing with Erotate, and the other families with fighters... The Ulbernauts won the day, and are still there. Which, of coruse, you can see in the oss covered emerald ruins of the town of Mikallano. They had taken out many ulbernauts, so only a few strive there, but that just makes it all the better. Then remaining Enkidukai fled to a nearby crime filled town named Akkio, a larger, crime-filled city further down Ojaveda. So Erotate Practiced day in, day out to become a Warrior of such power, he could wreak revenge on the ulbernauts, and rebuild what was once theirs.
Four years later, after much extensive training, Erotate believe he was ready. He came in with a sword, a shield, and a whole lot of bulding supplies. He made a rush attack on the ulbernauts, and was nearly taken down in one strike! As it neared him fro the kill, a skillful Enkidukai named Proteous Glenn drove off the ulbernaut while more Enkidukais made sure no more came. "Th-thank you!" Erotate said in such surprise that he was alive. "Well, no problem, but what are you doing all the way out here in the first place?" Proteous asked him. "I thought I was ready, and a warrior of such strength I could finally take revenge on the Ulbernauts for destroying Mikallano, but I guess not...thank you for rescuing me, but I had better get back to Akkio and-" Erotate was saying, "No way! If you want to become a Warrior, then I have an even better place for you..." Protoeus proclaimed urgingly with a half smile...
And then another four years later, Eroatte had been training. Again, for much time, and this time, he had learned the ways of Magic, and elite paths of skills. This time, thoguh, he knew he was not ready. But the day shall come. The day SHALL come.

The part about the ulbers never happened that way, actually, it was really with clackers, but I had to change it a lot because back then I was a Kylros and I knew where Hydlaa was :)

So follow along if you wish if we pass by, and bla bla bla no that's not what really happened with the ruins bla bla bla copyright and all that...

Could be in the middle of a server crash; yesterday was chock full of em. Just take it out of full screen and find something to occupy your time until it's up again.
