Linux Specific Issues / psclient.bin: error ... libopenal.so.0:
« on: January 29, 2006, 04:11:44 pm »
This is the complete error I can read on the shell:

/usr/local/games/planeshift/psclient.bin: error while loading shared libraries: libopenal.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I installed Planeshift using the .run file, then I renamed three .bin files in order to uncompress the .bz2 file containing the newest ones.
Then I ran the updater, it worked good updating completely the game, but trying to launch Planeshift produced that error.

What does it mean?
Regards.

Nice tip, thanks. :)

The archive linked by Bereror seems to work as it should, let\'s see what\'ll happen.

I read the stickeys but I didn\'t realize that the updater was called in a different way, hoping it IS the updater what you linked...

PS. I am sorry you didn\'t get any help on the #planeshift IRC channel. It seems to be completely offtopic and getting help there or seeing that somebody needs help is almost impossible.

Quiete useless channel, it should be better not to notify its own existence or at least specify that users will NOT gather helping info there.

Linux Specific Issues / Your updater version is older than the server's
« on: January 29, 2006, 12:51:51 pm »
That\'s the error I got after an apparently successful installation of the game. Before trying to start the game I have to update it, but the updater gotta be up-to-date and it isn\'t.
How can I update the updater?
Thanks, guys.

P.S. I\'m running Slackware10.2 kernel 2.4.31
