Iragdun Salikarios description says "A very large scar traces its way across his left eye" but texture shows the scar on his RIGHT eye.

General Discussion / Re: Wipe y/n?
« on: November 20, 2009, 03:12:48 am »
I feel like loosing part of myself in the wipe but I vote YES for the wipe.

1. Wipe is necessary to fix many bugs.
2. We knew there will be a wipe.
3. After the wipe my laziness won't stop me from learning another path to Winch access :)

You might be an oldbie if you remember jumping to the bottom of Death Realm to help lost souls.

Is it possible to keep in memory our "filters" when the program shuts down?
Balonik:  Can you add an exclude list too? As I have it currently anytime my name pops up the sound goes off, but I don't want to hear it when I type a message.  So I thought maybe an exclude list would solve that so I can add "[my name] says:" to prevent the sound from going off.

Here you are. PSMsgBell ver. 0.2 :)
Have a source.

Click a little S button to choose your own sound for each text.
Click it again and press Cancel button to play default sound for the text.

I'll do it in the next version. Filters and logs will be stored in .ini file. You will be able to choose your own sounds for each event.
There is also a bug to fix: when PS writes to a log file first time after user logs in it writes something like this:
================================================
Mon 12-Mar-2007 17:15:09 Player Name
------------------------------------------------

so if you want to be notified about your name the program plays the sound when PS writes any first text to the log.

All this will be implemented... in the nearest futuretm (soontm is reserved by PS team)  ;)

 again. I used wrong color identifier from wrong library. Please download again.
(it worked for me because Delphi installer installs this library)

8
 Sorry. It's ok now... I hope ;) Try again.

If anyone is still interested... a little piece of software for Windows XP. Choose your character's log file, type some texts like your name, "tells you:", "GuildChat from" or anything you want to trigger the sound then press ON button.
I'm not sure if it works with Windows Vista.
If you want it for Linux find someone who can write it because I can't yet.
Tell me if you like it and what you want to change or add.
Have a source :)

General Discussion / Re: Money exploit: Confession Window

Don't worry Thazmaps. It takes less than two hours to make 25k tria by mining gold and making gold ingots. I was collecting tria to buy a guildhouse but I gave up when I saw prices like 7M so I started to give tria to the poor.

Btw, I think the punishment has to be unavoidable and fast to be effective. Not just cruel.

I can't understand something... Is anybody here remembers good old 1985 ? Remember old adventure games on 8-bit computers? Let's say "The neverending story" for Atari XL. The game could understand simple commands as well as something like "Pick up food, leave hut, take Artax and ride east". In one sentence. Everything could be described in many ways. And that game was running on 8-bit machine with 64 kB (KILO bytes, not mega or giga!) RAM and processor running at 1.78 MHz (not 3GHz). These games were created often by one person, not a team. They were created in less then 6 months sometimes. Or "The Hobbit" for ZX Spectrum. 16kB RAM. Z80 processor. Every character in game lives his own live in real time and interacts with a player. I remember program shipped with SoundBlaster 2.0. You could talk with it about anything. On 286 PC. It's a shame we can't have something like that in PlaneShift after 5 years of development. I hope you will change it soon.... even soonTM

If you want to get follow up quest don't just ask for a quest. When you completed the first quest the NPC told you what you have to ask for.
Also the NPC will give you the first quest again.

Few times I lost hours of mining iron and making swords when I was assembling weapon and server crashed. Then I started with daggers, they require less iron so I could make it faster. I made four daggers so far. I was reloging immediately after finishing each dagger. But each time when I was trying to log in the server was unreachable for some time. Now I have 4 daggers in my inventory but no progress in skill. I think there is no point in weapons making at the moment.

Not in this case. I uninstalled winamp but PS still crashes with sound. Also strange colors are only visible if sound is on.

Semicolons at the begining of the lines don't change anything. I changed "false" to "true" at the end of the lines and now PS crashes when I open an inventory window.
