Mac OSX Specific Issues / sound not working even when enabled

Hiya, I\'ve searched and searched the site to find any mention of this, nil..
but I get no sound playing when I play the game, none at all, and yes I did enable sound in preferences too..
is this a common bug?

Computer type (i.e. Powerbook, G4 Tower, etc): Powerbook
Mac OS Version (x.x.x): 10.4.5
Processor (speed, type): 1.67ghz G4
RAM: 1.5gb ddr
Video Card (type, VRAM): Radeon Mobility 9700 (64mb)
Planeshift runs (y/n): y
Average FPS: 30-60+
Platform-specific bugs encountered: no sound, even when enabled in the config!!!!!!!
