Um... no? That\'s kind of the point of having a *different* charater, though I suppose you could drop your gear and hope no one else wanders by to claim it before you log in with the new one.

I don\'t know about you, but I don\'t go down ladders facing forward in real life, because I might slip too easily and fall.

I\'m hardly an authoritative source, but as I understand them glyphs and spells are two different but related things - a glyph is sort of like a magical lens to project a specific power, and are physical objects, while a spell is the power projected by a particular glyph or combination of glyphs when the character focuses mana through it/them. You can\'t put a physical object into a book except perhaps to hold the pages open or as a place marker, and it still takes up space even if you do.

Mac OSX Specific Issues /

While there are other problems here and there (as witness just read through this forum) the only major gripes I\'ve had with the Mac version are A) No sound (which I solve by dumping the contents of the \"music\" folder into a playlist, then turning on repeat/shuffle) and B) borked zoneinfo.xml (which may be fixed by now) in the 0.3.013 .dmg, which can be gotten seperately by searching the In Game Issues forum in a little .zip archive.

Within those bounds, though, it a Happy Mac Gaming Experience of the sort of which more are desperately needed.

Sideways is also good for those steep staircases (over 45 degrees) one finds here and there.

You know, there is a panel just before you hit \"upload\" on the character generation that TELLS you what your stats and skills will be. If you want to know exactly what this birth month or that event will do for you, go to the end and look, then go back with \"prev.\" It\'s not all that hard, thoguh there are a few things that you have to pick something before going on - but you can alaways change them.

Now, the idea that stumbling around like a fool because you\'re new and no one will tell you what something does or where things are is \"more fun\" is something that I question when taken to the extreme, but at the general level of observance I\'ve found so far it\'s not too bad. (I\'m looking for (common place) - Oh, it\'s thataway - I\'ve been wandering around trying to find (uncommon place) - Yeah, me too, I\'ve been over there so if you\'ve been over here, let\'s go this way together) Extending this to the point of making the results of character generation opaque (especially when not everything it will give you can even be used at this stage of developement) would be one of those extremes, but like I just said above, it doesn\'t go that far, so good enough, eh wot?

Or is there another way to update then through the program..?
You\'ll need to get the package via Bittorrent or direct download from the Downloads page, then get a copy of the fixed zoneinfo.xml because (at least as of yesterday) the one in the package was borked. If you use the Forum Search feature (one of those yellow buttons at the top of the page) you should be able to find the relevant thread, or you can manually page through the In-Game Issues subforum to find the thread - or I suppose you could have someone email you, it\'s not a big file. Anyway, the zip you\'re after is 0.3.013_zoneinfo.zip - it\'s good on all platforms.
