It seems alot of people are wondering what a loner like Kergen is doing in Dwarvesbane and now that this thread exists
I will tell a brief story.
Harnquist was bustling with activity as Kergen stood about chatting and waiting for an opportunity to make trouble for someone,...anyone when Beanius approaches. 'Hello Kergen' 'Hello Beanius'.
'Drahlian told me to give this to you.' It was something wrapped in silk, something about the size of a dagger. As Kergen unwrapped it he noticed a faint glow, even in the azure light he could see it. He thought in his mind 'It's beauty is unrivaled, a rare blade indeed.'
He looks up at Beanius and down again to the dagger. 'What is it?" Beanius seemed most interested and eyed the blade curiously,...perhaps too curiously. The blade seemed to hum silently in his grasp.
'He wants it, don't let him touch it or he will take it.' the voice in his mind said in a voice ringing with certainty.
'It is a dagger.' Kergen holds it so Beanius can see but his eyes study Beanius warily.
'But what kind is it?' queried the young Demorian.
'I do not know but it is beautiful, I will have to thank her.' said Kergen before putting it away from more nosey prying eyes.
He continued to mill about and take part in chit chat but his mind was on the dagger. He thought he could feel some kind of power in it.
As the day progressed Kergen grew more and more irritable than his normal self. He hadn't noticed but most of his irritation was toward Hammerweilders and Stonebreakers but he thought nothing of it and that night returned to his shanty in the wilds for a meal and finally some much needed sleep.
