General Discussion / Re: You Might Be An Oldbie If...

I was thinking about the one in the Dakkru RP story line, the one that did not really count since we were not supposed to know about Dakkru in game... the story line were stopped shortly after by GMs for this reason i think.

I think Peacer were there, Lyaph were looking for him on the battle field if i remember correctly.
EDIT: Looking for him, not with good intentions

... you still have a character in the Thieves of Yliakum.
... you raided the Temple with Thieves of Yliakum.
... you know who has a stolen page from the Book of names.
... you participated in the huge Battle on Oja road (BD road today, or at least it was a year ago when i last checked in)
... you had to double check your description to see which kind of Elf race the character were.
... Aradia, SovHed & Ponengey taught you everything.

General Discussion / Re: What do you expect of a thief?(event wide)
« on: December 06, 2007, 04:26:54 am »
The dark way... For all of the role playing participants around a thief, though out of previous experience i might say that Role playing a thief character is extremely fun even though lack of people available for mugging.
Tough The fact that 8 out of 10 just ignore you and runs away when you lure him away into a dark alley and tells him to drop his tria pouch is understandable (Tough no not acceptable) tough the fact that the other two who actualy stay starts an OOC war against you and the people surrounding him, making the thieves bored so that they walk away and how these people actually SCARE AWAY the new players in the guild and sometimes even from the game itself.

This is fact, and it is scary!..

General Discussion / The cult of the dead
« on: November 29, 2007, 08:37:57 pm »
What about The cult of the dead? it is mentioned on the elves(dermorian) races page on the official site and does not explain so verry mutch. Would like to hear what the devs (specialy settings team) have to say about The cult of the dead.

Their appearance is characterized by harmonious forms, straight hair and pointed ears. They are not as tall or robust compared to Diaboli and Humans, but still more so than Lemurs. The Elves are naturally inclined to philosophy, meditation and mysticism, with a strong respect for the ancestors; in fact, in spite of the prohibition, some groups secretly belong to the cult of the dead, stealing corpses from the procedure of expulsion.

Linux Specific Issues / Kubuntu problem when trying to run PS
« on: October 21, 2007, 12:31:09 am »
I've recently installed Kubuntu, Tried regular Ubuntu earlier but was told KDE was more suitable for me, though i am still a noob when it comes to Linux (Verry willing to learn though :D )
On Ubuntu i had no problem whit installing and running planeshift
but now when i have installed Planeshift on Kubuntu i get this when i try to open any of the installed applications:
Code: [Select]
crystalspace.graphics3d.opengl:  Error opening Graphics2D context.
I've installed PS as both a KDE and GNOME application and both resulted in the same error.

Computer specs:
OS: Kubuntu-x86
AMD Duron 1.1Ghz
512 RAM (Not sure what kind of mem)
Nvidia Geforce 2 MX400

I got latest drivers for Gcard (94.43.01)

Two dark capes flies over the plaza. One Dermorian and an Ynnwyn fights over the lead to be the first one to get to Kada-El's. "Not this time Mendax" Lyaph chuckles as he raises the phase up the stairs as the fog lays down over Hydlaa, ten seconds later Lyaph takes a seat near the fire and Mendax stumbles through the door "peek-a-boo" he manages to get out. He breathes heavily "Lyaph look! the crystal is dying" Lyaph chuckles "I am not that easy to fool you know" He turns around and as the fog disappears slowly he notices the pitch black sky over the rooftops. "Get in here" he yells to Mendax "Get down here.. near the fire" Mendax jumps down into the hole where the fire is and they both steps backwards to it. A loud sound of different creatures can be distinguished in the echoes from the plaza. Then suddenly a wind blows through the open tavern doors and straight into the fire which dies at the same time as all of Yliakum seems to  go quiet, black, nothing is there, nothing at all.. not even Lyaph himself, nor Mendax.

Wish list / Faction assigned guilds
« on: July 03, 2007, 01:16:53 pm »
Hi, (Saw no suiting place regarding factions to put this in so i made new topic feel free to merge discusion into another topic if needed)

I was thinking about the factions points and what they are good for, i can realy see that more faction points works in ones favour for more quests in that faction, and less in the oposit faction...

I fell of that line and started playing whit the thought about faction assigned guilds, it would make it a lot easier and mutch more fun, guilds asigned to the Laanx factions has a much longer questline in that direction. Maybe even access some places only true laanx followers can?

Others then that it would bring a lot of PRing options and instead of guild wars it could be an option for Faction VS Faction? Lawfull vs Chaos, Guards vs Thieves, Thieves VS Merchants.
Ofcourse i would never dream about puting Laanx VS Talad in FvF but there could be some factions whit no oposite.

It's a verry random thought i had but i felt i should at least put it up!

(Everybody VS Worldomination = FullPvP  ;D )

Have some more thoughts regarding this but those posts will come later when i've thought them through
