And maybe some better monsters as well, so that you don?t have to kill rats (I haven?t tested planeshift, perhaps there are some other monsters).

Yes, but WoW is hack?n slay IMHO. I miss for example the ability to buy a house. But combat as the main goal is necessary IMHO, except it?s replaced by something like economics/capitalism.

IMHO both roleplaying and combat are important.
WoW has no real ropeplay unfortunately, but I think combat is as important as roleplay is. If people open shops or do a job to earn money for example, there has to be a \"main goal\". In WoW for example you do all this for getting good equipent, which you can use in combat. So being strong in combat is the \"main goal\".
If this is different what is the main priority in PS then? What do you do with your money? Can you buy land and trade with it, (or something like that) or is it foe something different. IMHO a rpg is not real-life, so there has to be a \"main goal\".

So is the combat system in planeshift similar to that of WoW.
Just click a mob and cast your spells on it or activate \"attack\" to use your weapon? Or is it different?

Why do you have a NDA for art. Planeshift is free, isn?t it. Or have I missunderstood something here?

No I mean \"big\" differences. Just like I said, is the combat in realtime or round based.
There are many roleplaying game where combat is round-based AFAIK.

General Discussion / Planeshift vs World of Warcraft
« on: March 28, 2006, 07:52:55 pm »
I really like playing World of Warcraft, but IMHO Planeshift could be even better because it?s freeware :)
So Is the basic principle of playing the same as in World of Warcraft, or are there big differences (e.g. round based combat or something like this)?
