Hi all.
I am having troubles with the updater.
When going to the sewers the game crashes. I read that i have to update the game.

When I use the updater the system crashes.
Using the command line updater i get:

linux:/opt/planeshift # ./updater --auto
Critical files () not found (Server only)
NOTIFY: psUpdaterEngine initialized.
Checking registry version...
*** glibc detected *** free(): invalid pointer: 0x085472fc ***
Abortito

or:

Checking registry version...
Server error 404 (http://psmirror.u24.solone.net/psupdater/version.dat)
Couldn\'t connect to mirror mir4!
Trying mirror mir1..

what should I do??
I reinstalled the game twice, no solution.

*edit*

I did \"export MALLOC_CHECK_=0\" again and it SEEMS to work.

I wonder why it didn\'t worked the first 4 times...

*edit*
(understood. sorry Karyuu)

Ok, update done.
BUT NOW THE GAME WON\'T START.
The client loads, I insert mail and password, click ok.... and the client quits!!
I try again, it says \"wait 30 seconds\", I wait, and it quits again.
The game worked smoothly without update, except for the sewers bug.

Again, what should I do?

*edit again*
report of the client.
What\'s wrong??

Technical Help: IN GAME bugs (after loading world) / updater
« on: April 01, 2006, 04:13:30 pm »
Is there a way to manually update in Linux without using the automatic updater?

The updater is not working for me, and crashes my system. I need that to solve the sewers fall-to-death problem.

Please, someone help this poor newbie!!

Hi. I am running PS on a linux system (SuSE10, brand new install, ATI drivers working well).

I just started playing the game, so I went to the sewers, bold in an aura of blazing glory.

And I fell to death.

Twice.

I came here and saw the \"RUN THE #@#]&% UPDATER!\" thing.

I run the updater.
Mir1: not loading.
Mir2: stuck for half an hour. I have a 7 Mbps connection, and I don\'t think the update is 405 GB of stuff.

Ok, tried again with update.
System crash, lost even the low level commands as reboot and re-init graphics.

What can I do play PS??
