Linux Specific Issues / Re: missing plugins

Stevit, I would advise you to try the combination of gcc-4.1.1 / glibc 2.4xx.
I compiled Planeshift successfully with gcc-4.1.1 and glibc-2.4 on AMD64 (devel archictecture ~AMD64)..
Use something like tcupdate script (you can find it on the gentoo forums) for updating the toolchain correctly.

Hi,
I build the client on gentoo AMD64 myself and it's nearly working flawlessly. The only annoying thing ist that I can't use me inventory. Any click in the inventory screen (except close it  ;) ) causes my psclient to segfault.

But,NICE WORK !!!

I just wanna say that I would like to see this also.
It would give the game a more "real" touch and make it a lot more interesting if you can't *exactly* tell how strong this individuum of some monster will be...

I have a slightly different sound problem...
It's weird the startup sounds work until I enter the game then most of the time the sound stops working (just no sound).
I'm using ALSA on AMD64 and DMIX software mixing

Sometimes I encounter this problem too...
Next time I will try Zorbels advice with the double left mouse click and shift key...

Another similar problem ist that sometimes my character starts greeting like crazy ....
on almost every mouseclick or short movement( with cursorkeys) my charcter greets, unfortunately also in the middle of a fight  :(
