General Discussion / Re: Steel Blue Memories

Man, the glitches in the beginning were ridiculous. But some of my favourite were when you fell down through the floors of things, and when textures became all checkered (<-- already mentioned, but I thought it was worth it again), made me feel like I was in some kind of board game world.

Mac OSX Specific Issues / Re: Samething everyone's saying. 0.5 problem :O

Not too sound like a total loser... but, could somebody put a step-by-step of exactly what they did to get it to work?

Because I keep restarting the client, etc., basically doing everything that has been posted here, but it seems to be yanking me around. Essentially a little help for a doofus would be great.

Thanks  :)

Mac OSX Specific Issues / Re: Getting the updater working.
« on: September 23, 2008, 09:31:59 pm »
Ok, so I just recently purchased a mac so some things are still a little new to me. I tried really hard to do this by myself, I swear, but I finally gave up and am now asking for help :sweatdrop: .Anyways, I did everything right, I suppose, I ran the updater and a new .zip file appeared in my planeshift folder. I extracted all the items in the folder and then put them into the planeshift folder and tried running it, and i'll just say that it completely failed  X-/ . I'm not exactly computer savy per say, I know my way around and I can take care of a computer, but if anybody knows what I did wrong then please could you point me in the right direction.

Ok this is kind of NOT that simple. I mean it requires a lot of work, and it's only one little 'ittle request.

1. I'd like to see updates coming in two months as previously promised.

Now granted, the last update was much larger and so took a little bit longer then requested. But after that update i'd still like to see updates coming in an estimated time of two months.

Hopefully it's not that big of a request...well it kind of is but i'll pretend like it's a ridiculously easy thing to do :whistling:.

The Hydlaa Plaza / Re: Tell Me A Story ... *bats around a ball of yarn*
« on: August 14, 2007, 03:47:49 am »
I have a good story. This is from awhile ago.
Way back when me and some friends were drawing on christmas bulbs so we could sell them at a school fair. While drawing a friend messed up, to fix this he picked up a bottle of some sort of wash and at that exact moment the fan was blowing my way, and he was sitting infront of the fan. To say the least I got a load of, I believe it was board wash into my eyes.
Freaking out I ran to the nearest fountain and started splashing water into my eyes. It started going away, but I was still really paranoid.
So when I got home I started thinking of way to make myself cry so I could cleanse my eyes of the foul liquid which was pushing it's way into my iris. I decided the most logical thing to do was tape my eyes open and run around in circles on my front lawn.
Good news was that it worked, bad news was that for 15 minutes I managed to lower my self-esteem more then I have in 15 years(which was how old I was at that point).

Complaint Department / Re: quests (running like mad)
« on: August 05, 2007, 02:35:17 pm »
Actually, I too, noticed how much you have to run with basically all the quests. But i'm sure that later on in the life of PlaneShift more quests will be made where you don't have to run as far, but receive a worse reward for it. But currently most of the quests invovle running like there's no tomorrow.

Oh ok...thank you, that's a question I already posted in the "add you comments here" thing for the update. It wasn't answered  X-/ heh, i'll live. But I also had a few other questions. Here's exactly what I wrote:

"I noticed that it said that "some new features in the update will be enabled shortly", when they are enabled are we going to have to use the PlaneShift Updater? Or will they simply be updated and the Updater will not be necessary? And with these new features, will they also be added onto the list?"

And by list, I mean the list that says all the new features and bugs that have been fixed. I'm wondering if a full list of everything updated will be put out, or is everything that's up right now, everything?

Fan Art / Re: Is there room for a sand monster in PlaneShift?
« on: July 16, 2007, 12:49:08 am »
I really enjoy this idea actually...I mean how often do you get the crap scared out of you by a monster in most games? I mean, unless, of course you're talking about Quake.  ;)

What's the story of this creature? What's it's name?

Newbie Help (Start Here) / Re: Help plz........
« on: July 16, 2007, 12:42:08 am »
There are also TONS of people in game willing to help. I must admit that everything is build like a maze, and somethings are just ridiculously large. But i'm sure if you just stick with it you'll soon find out all the directions for places.

And sometimes you get stuck and can't /unstick yourself, so killing yourself is the only option.

Hopefully this helped a tiny bit.

Good luck, stick with it and i'm sure you'll get the hang of it.  :D

There are going to be spells for agility, stealth, etc. at least...that's what i've been told. Not quite sure WHEN it'll be enable though.

Oh ok, that sounds good then. I kind of like the chat bubbles. But only to an extent, so as long as it will be possible, in the near future, to remove them without deleting files that'd be great.

Thank you.

Yay! \\o// I was wondering when the deghir would be implemented (after reading all about them in the library), and if these are only some of the new changes. I kind of don't like the chat bubbles...makes me think a little bit about MSN or something else closely related to it X-/. But everything else looks great. When the other features, which haven't been enabled yet are, will you add them to this list?

Otherwise the update looks great! I'm so glad it's finally out. Good job.

Yeah, the mirrors are currently NOT working for anybody it seems. I'd suggest getting bittorrent and then downloading it that way since it'll be, most likely, a lot more quick then waiting for the mirrors to work.
