Newbie Help (Start Here) / Guild ranks
« on: August 22, 2006, 09:37:12 pm »
sorry if this is covered.. haven't found specifics:

can ranks be modified after guild creation (names, quantity, permissions), or are these set?  is 9 the max # of ranks possible?

TIA!

Working here. Very nice!  No more inv crashes!  Combat glitches still present, however.  :whistling:

Is this one any better than the first one by Xordan?  Possibly more recent?  The issues I'm having are with inventory related crashes and combat glitches, mainly.  Not sure if these probs are present in the windows distro.  Some of my maps are also off on lighting, but eh.  Relight takes forever and pssetup seems broken for this task.

My compiled CVS version isn't working... maybe something to do with the versions of the framework?  I'm on amd64 and followed the CVS guide with no compilation errors.  Multiple times.. :/

Otherwise good to go with Xordan's installer. ;)

I believe this to be due to the missing zoneinfo for bronze_doors (./data/zoneinfo.xml)..  If anyone has the file from the windows distro, please upload! :)

Could someone please copy me the latest zoneinfo.xml for the windows 015 client (found in the data directory)?  This is related to issues in Linux.  :'(

If someone could send me the file or paste the contents, it would be most appreciated!!  Please PM  8)

- Removed old unused speed variable from DR messages and optimized the packing of the velocity
components.  We now send only non-zero velocity components over the network, and pack a bitfield
indicating which ones before it.  This drastically lowers the average DR message size, as
most of those numbers are zeros at any one instance.  Best estimate, assuming around 50% of the
network trafic to be DR, is a 20% to 25% total network traffic reduction.  (by size)

Have to say that this improvement by Mr.Garrett looks promising with regards to laaaag. 8)  Hoping ;)
