I think your idea sounds better, thanks. That way I can avoid all the corrupted files, & there were a lot of them in that patch.
I take it I just place these files in the main PS folder. I'm sorry, but I am not sure what/how to do that even when you do email them. Sorry to be so naive... :-[

Not without askingfriends if they know how.
But myy guild, the Blitzers, suggest I uninstall the game, re-install, then use the PS updater without the patch.
What do you think about that idea ?...

I am just expressing my emotions. For a new player to this game who knows little about computers, this is very frustrating.
Yes, I overwrote. Yes, all were extracted, I was asked at least 20 times if i wished to continue past a corrupted file. I said yes to all. Nothing was running when I extracted. I guess in a few days I will d/load the patch & overwrite again.
In the meantime I will continue reading this forum for clues.

I too followed the instructions given in the sticky main post: update on updating the updater.

I uninstalled the game, then reinstalled.
Then I d/loaded & unzipped the patch to the PS file.
Then I found:
...the game still says "U R not running the correct version of PS" (I have 03015)
...setup now won't work
...updater won't work

the patch d/load was corrupted a lot, but repeating will get the same result I would think.

Frankly, as I am not computer savvy to start with & new to this game aswell, then waited days for the new version of the game & then even longer for the server to start up, then to play for 2 days, only to get all this trouble, I am just about ready to give up on this whole bloody game.... :thumbdown:

Newbie Help (Start Here) / New player stuck logging in.

I created an account, but for some strange reason could not login.
After trying everything I could think of, including reading the instructions over & over & studying the forum, I looked for help.
There did'nt seem to be much around, so I asked a moderator.
I asked Karyuu, who went all out to help me.
Karyuu is patient, persistent and caring.
We could'nt ask for a better example.

OK thx Anne, now I am on the login page & it says laanx server failed....I have my emailed password.
This is a different noobie question to my last one I know, any suggestions plz ?

I've downloaded the client thru bit torrent.
I've created a new account, used my own password, then saw the supplied password in my emails.
I've read the installation instructions.
There it says:
Once downloaded, double click the downloaded icon and step through the installer.

Now that's where I have a problem........the only icon I can find in my downloads file just brings me back to bit torrrent.
I am not computer savvy at all.
Please advise me on installing this game.
