Linux Specific Issues / Re: People with installer crashes
« on: August 04, 2006, 11:45:40 pm »
I was getting the error with the opensource nv and proprietary nvidia drivers on my geforce cards... so I don't think it had anyhting to do with fglrx... maybe but I doubt it.  I'd think that the driver change was changing something with X that made it work correctly.

Okay, if the problem exists with nvidia as well there must be something else.

Your assumption about changing the driver corrects somthing about X somewhere else, doesn't make sense to me. I have some sort of dual installation of both drivers, which i created with netenv. Now I can choose the driver in the grub menu. Therefor the driver must have an influance.

I reported the bug before. It crashes with the proprietary fglrx rubbish and doesn't crash with the free r300 driver. It happened with the game installer as well as the test installer. The problems with fglrx started after upgrading my debian/sid to Xorg 7.0. Some other programs crash as well.

Perhaps it might be interesting, which driver and Xorg version people are using.

Linux Specific Issues / Re: When come the Patch for linux?
« on: July 16, 2006, 10:17:32 pm »
I found a solution myself. It is a problem with fglrx. I have a homebrewed double installation with fglrx and the free r300 driver. I use fglrx only for gaming. Since switching to Xorg 7.0 I get fglrx crashes with other programs as well. Installing with r300 was no problem. Anyway, if it helped to find a bug it was worth posting it.

It's a pretty recent debian/unstable, kernel 2.6.16. A window always pops up with the following message:

There has been an error. A debug file has been created at /tmp/bitrock_debug_5225.xml, please attach it to any bug report. The application will exit now

Shell I send the debug file to you?

Do you need information about certain libraries?

I just downloaded the client and the installer breaks. It happens at the end when files are goinig to be installed, but also when trying to cancel the client in the first dialog. md5sum is okay.

I got the client from http://xrl.us/pslinux. I also dowloaded art.zip from www.psmirror.org as mentioned in this thread and exchanged it.

Hi,

I just downloaded the client and tried to create my first character, a Klyros. When choosing this race I get the following message

The server sent an invaild model filename, please run the updater

After pressing the OK the client crashes. The other available races are okay. Is it a known issue and will it be fixed in the official client?

Thanks in advance
