yes, my hair really IS that crazy ...and yes, my beard has gone almost completely white.

This is where we get stuck and have to agree on certain things. Although I'd love to be able to have a bottle of wine at Kada's I don't even know if grapes will be implemented.
...well, we have beer and ale, and I have never seen a field of hops. Why could we not have wine or tea? Just because the things aren't around on the level we have access to "right now" doesn't mean they don't exist. We would also have to have some sort of flour ...for pie and bread. We don't have those, but we have the items made from them. I would assume they are being grown on another level.

Sometimes there was some introductory prelude but for the most part is was "Let's get to the meat of the adventure as fast as we can. That is what we are here for!"
...at least you didn't begin the game with your brand-new paladin roasting on a spit ...surrounded by ogres ...and the REST of the party had about five minutes of game-time to rescue you before you cooked to death (and they were SO not on-time!)
