Hassadria feels a great loss....

[I can hardly hold back my tears. Even if we didn't know us well, you've always been my ideal, Proglin. You will be missed greatly. I wish you the best for the path that lays in front of you. Hassadria]

...as well as Miaua does.

[PlaneShift won't be the same without you. Your Roleplay and ideas were wonderful. Thanks for everything! I can only wish you the best in your forthcoming life. We won't forget. Miaua.]

Can the devs keep the list of abusers and should something similar happen again and other glitch users will be revealed, compare them against the list and without remorse delete those who abused again? Maybe even ban, and account delete.

The crowd has spread and the plaza on the empore already has forgotten all the bustle and excitement that filled the air just a short while ago. The auction that could have brought a tremendous change to the Lair ended. A group of kin, a family, is standing in front of their old and new house, looking proud at each other.
A paper goes around, showing everyone whom they owe their thanks for this great success.

The paper contains a list of names. They read:

Arka
Donari
Eliere
Irri
Kemedes
Maanahr
Morila
Proglin
Quart
Rokun (on behalf of Hokinon)
Secagy
Talcon
Vexonee
Vinafera
Xillix
Yanlora

[And of course thanks to everyone we've forgotten here and to those who spoke out their support for us.
It was a nice event without much OOC interference.
A great thanks to the devs and GMs as well for making this possible.]

Complaint Department / Re: Light armor change issue

Hassadria points to UtM's message

That's what I mean with 'disadvantage'.
Everyone is able to train agility to the same level. That means that the one wearing heavy armor is as fast as the one wearing no armor.
That's realistic?

What is the benefit in wearing armor? Which of your skills provides the better protection? Those are important questions.
IMO, you can move better in this and that armor type and move in ways to lower the damage of an incoming hit.
Where is the difference wether you wear clothes or leather? None. It's still the same skill.
You move your arm against the hit in a way so that it doesn't hit you directly, but slides you. And with this skill, you can wear even a housecoat.
Or is there any other system how you can "train" armor? I doubt that the leather is stronger when someone else wears it.

And movement restrictions... well, when you wear heavy things, you surely will be easier to hit, because you can't react as fast.

That's why we would like to suggest:
1) A skill similar to melee (like avoiding hits at all, without any armor).
2) Or just any similar thing which might "protect" you when unarmored, cause now, unarmored character only has disadvantages and no advantages, that's not true IRL, isnt it?
3) Disadvantages when wearing any kind of armor.
4) Some combination of previous points.

some who have taken the care to follow my advice (thereby affecting 140 individuals) may well find their troubles eased. For the rest of you please send me a PM.

Yeah, listen to Xillix.
Thanks to her help, Miaua and me are now rid of (hopefully  ;D) all bugs that prevented us from entering the winch. So, don't give up and send your problems to her.  \\o//

Linux Specific Issues / Re: PS Client Login Failure - Ubuntu 6.06
« on: February 26, 2007, 05:21:09 pm »
I turned the "Load All Maps" and "Keep All Maps Loaded" options off and it made it into the game  \\o//

Now if only I could get the LAM and KAML functions to work  :whistling:

This problem can be solved.  :)

It originates from a corrupted zoneinfo.xml in Planeshift/data.
At the beginning it says:

Code: [Select]
  <!-- guildhouse -->
  <zone sector="guildhouse" loadimage="Loading Background">
    <region map="guildhouse"/>
  </zone>

Change that into:
Code: [Select]
  <!-- guildhouse
  <zone sector="guildhouse" loadimage="Loading Background">
    <region map="guildhouse"/>
  </zone>
  -->

Then you can use the 'Load all maps' feature again.

We're all heroes? Heh. Please direct me to this quote.

Since you asked for it, here it goes:

Those are just a few. If you use the search option, you'll surely find more.

And like I already said: If you play the DR to be final, it's your choice.

So you killed someone then found them later? So siad person was a hero with the ability to escape from the death realm? So you can kill heroes? Scary stuff...

Well... now I have to say a few words too since it was my alt Siteri killed there in front of Harnquist.
According to a well known person we all are heroes and able to escape the DR. If someone plays it differently it's their choice.

And to be honest... I waited quite a long time in DR to finally find someone who was willing to RP the way out with me. If it wasn't for him, I would have deleted that char.
Thanks to Balonik for that nice RP.

Edit: To clarify that point: She returned home after this experience.

General Discussion / Re: The Age old question.
« on: November 25, 2006, 04:37:30 am »
Enkudikai should have significantly lower life span than humans being a feline(ish) race.

Here I have to disagree too. A simple look into the race description says 'Humanoids with feline features...'
That surely puts us into the same category as Ylians.

Changing the color of a tab or tab text instead of blinking would be a big relief. Blinking can be very distracting when you are engaged in something, while a simple color change (from white to red for example) would be easier on the eyes.

Should be possible. I will make a test and see, how well does it work.

I already did something like this, but my solution disables flashing completely. It replaces it by a new background for the buttons.
If interested, have a look here:
Edit: Link removed

Inside is a patch for the source of 0.3.016 cvs (latest history.txt entry 2006-09-17) in diff-format and some files I changed or added to the elven skin.
Also a small screenshot is included.

In-Game Roleplay Events / Re: [RP] The Ojaveda to Hydlaa Race
« on: August 03, 2006, 03:38:32 pm »
A nice idea.
But to bring some life to Oja, I would recommend to switch start and end places. So, start in Hydlaa and finish in Oja. Maybe with a winners celebration and a party at Brados afterwards.

But for the race itself I see an unjust advantage for everyone with bleeding edge hardware. Since several map change points are involved in this journey everyone who can load all maps at once will be faster than someone who can't.
