Technical Help: Problems BEFORE entering the game / I can not get in, two error problems

I get a message telling me that I am not running the same version as the server even though I downloaded it today. 
When I updated using the updater I get an error message "EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION at 00C3D424"
How do I get around it so I can start playing. I realy like MMORPGS. I can provide all the system specs needed.
