Technical Help: Problems BEFORE entering the game / I am trying to download PS

when i load the game, it says the server is out of date. i have rebooted 3 times, reinstalled the patch each time and the only thing i don't know how to do is to extract the files into the ps folder. can sum1 plz help me, a friend told me that whe the game works that PS is an awesome game.
