Yes, strength potions doesn't last forever, yes... but having (104)(4) of strength is a bit weird...

I think I got the same problem, but not related with potions. I casted the Strength spell, so I got (100)(112) of strength. After some moment, I noticed I got (100)(88) of strength... notice that before was +12, and after -12.

Studing your problem, you got +100 of strength using potions, and after you got -100 in strength... this cannot be a coincidence!  :beta:
Maybe this is a wanted behavior: maybe 1 minute of strength leveled up must be recovered with 1 minute having less strength...

Well, someone said without a trainer it's not possible to advance in a skill. Why?

Maybe the process to rank up a skill could be done by myself, working working working and doing experience. For example, when you max red way, I can rank up (over the max) using red way using this magic way a lot in different situations (agains an ulber, against a furnace, againts me...). Each time I use this red way, I can advance in skill over the limit. Of course, this will be a very very slow process, wich permits to break the maximum limit.

Nikodemus grab my idea (as usual, reading his forum posts).

It was implicit that:
- users must know English grammar
- users must know a basic vocabulary

And it's implicit, also, that whole sentences can't be translated perfectly.
And it's implicit, also, that user who don't speak english everyday can't write always good (I mean correct) english sentences.

My idea is an help (to permit non english language users) to write english without having a vaste dictionary in mind. As example, if I'm mining and I want to say: "Whoa, I'm exhausted", but I don't know  the english word "exhausted", I have to search in an external dictionary (and this cause my game to be windowed, having a program wich translate words and so on... or worste, in a dictiornary book). If I can know that translation (of the word "exhausted") directly in PS, it better for me and for who listen.

This idea will cause, in my opinion:
- Better (non english) user feeling
- Better player communication, OOC and IC (PS is based on communication, right?)

Also, non english users have a chance to enlarge their dictionaries.

Being in globalized world, english is a standard communication language. The game is planned to be english, because if not, it couldn't reach anyone!

Effectively, english is a language with easy grammar, but this is not a reason to say "Learn english, fool"... don't flame me because this, but because most of english users don't learn alternative languages, and most users speak english natively, these users can think that only english users can enjoy PS; and this is totally wrong, because PS is started from an italian guy(s), and without him/they, all PS users couldn't enjoy PS. I don't want define who thinks to be superior because its english capabilities...

I want a integrated tool wich HELPS communication, and don't substitute my brain (as someone said  ;)).

Uhm... maybe... but a rank with more than 20000 PP could be considered a limit? In my opinion, yes! (Maybe because I don't have enought experience in this game).

Even if an user reach 20000 PP, he level up only by 1 rank... than, it should gain more than 20000 PP ro rankup again...

At the end, even if there's no upper level limit, there is a *pratical* upper level limit...

I think about skills...

I think about maxed skills. Normally, in games like this, skills have always an upper limit. Why? Think about it...

I'll prefer a skill system wich don't impose an upper limit. In this way, I suppose higher skill than normal should cost a lot of PP (something like 500/1000 PP each rank)... the advantage is a major diffentiation between characters.

This will avoid having maxed skills, so I think the consequence are:
- Any character is different much more to each other, and character with max skills can't be compared with others
- Character can choose to train only few skill, instead (because main skills are maxed) train other non intersting skills for the character.

I don't want, for my character, do crafting. I want train only magic... but when all magic skills are trained, what I could do?

Maybe I miss something... or maybe it's a good idea.  :flowers:

Being italian, I have always some problem in RP because my dictionary is very limited. Event talking with guild members, sometimes, I have some problem.
So I thought about an integrated translator in the chat window. It would be nice, isn't it?

Because OSS, I think about dictionary files. They exists free!!! In many languages also!

I usually use this software to do some translations: http://stardict.sourceforge.net/ and these are some links to download some dictionary files http://www.stardict.org/download.php.

Dictionaries are free, and the software is OSS. I don't think to do a complete and automatic translator, but a sort of "single word" translator, so any user, internally to the game, could translate any term he have in mind.

What do you think?

Being a client modification, wich don't involve any server communication and game enviroment, it should be easy to start...

I'm sorry to have started a duplicated thread about this (because the link to the other thread). But now, I opened this... so I want replay...

I agree with Nikodemus and Under the moon. How a object in your inventory drop into the ground automatically? Generally, I suppose this action sequence:

- Your strength, being normal, permits to carry your objects in your inventory.
- Casted the weakness spell, the strength is lowered.

Now, from the developers view, for the following action, there are two options:
1. handle the situation correctly: this, in my humble opinion, should consist in blocking the character due the too heavy inventory (that becuase the inventory should smack down the character). In this case movement, attacks and other actions should be blocked. Notice that no items in inventory are dropped on the ground, because they are contained in inventory, wich is well closed. This is natural.
2. Workaround to permit a normal situation like before: this could be reached dropping items until you can carry your inventory. This is simpler, because the programmer don't handle more complex situation (block player actions...), but empty your inventory enought... and this is not natural (it's like the character will empty his inventory to don't being smaked down on the ground... you would do it?), and this is not wanted by any user (because other players can pickup your items before you can pick up them).

I think an immediate patch is not possible, due the more complex event handling. But for me, it's clear it should be handled correctly before as possible (but I think there more serious problems than this).

About items in your grip, I think they could be dropped (because the character should left his weapons due the limited strength), but because item stealing, it should be avoided. You can think the character with a intense will ( X-/), take on his hand his weapons becuase want combact (or else justification for explaing this fact).

About the question if it's or it's not a bug, is superfluous: the fact is the behavior is not correct and natural.

It doesn't make your glyphs drop (since technically they weigh nothing), but if it is casted enough, if could make you drop the swords right out of your hands! Personally I think that it shouldn't be considered an "exploitable bug", because people should know better than to stand in the same spot while the other person is casting it. The spell is immediately interrupted as soon as the person moves.

I don't say it's a bug. I say it's not correct to drop items from my inventory. As solution, I could think to block the player, block his attacks and so on... until spell is finished, but keeping all items in inventory.

I've searched for this question, but I didn''t find anything usefull to me.

I happened to me to duel with my (ex) guild leader, to make him know how strong I was. Nothing special, but he casted the weakness spell on me, and I lost most of my gold ores... what I want ask is:

I can loose also my (very precious) glyphs?
I can loose also my swords?

About my gold ores I don't care much about them (they could be recovered with some mining). But I will be sad to loose my (precious) glyphs ( :'(). Is this possible? ( :sweatdrop:)

I think important items shouldn't be dropped due the weakness spell... I prefer the chacracter couldn't move, loose volatile items for the spell duration...

Hi to all.

I'm playing to PS from a couple of months, and I've always found very kind people ( :)). But today I got a very, very very, very bad situation ( :-\). A new entry in our guild has invited a new entry, Namefad is the name.

This guy, french, as started to write in french in the guild chat. That's not the problem. The problem is he insulted us, the guild and its members ( :(). He was saying:

"You guild is stupid"
"You are stupid"
"Band del cul" (not really french, a little italianazied, "band of my ass")
"I don't speak with stupid people" (refferring to us)

 :o

He write dozen and dozen of phrases like that, in french and some in english. Because no guild leader was online, nobody could ban him... I've just used the /report command, hopefully registering the guild chat. I have done three registrations, personally... and I tried to ignore him (and i was muted, i don't know why... due a bug?).

Because the guild is very new, we have a lot of new members... What do you think GMs? I think these new members won't be connected again. And it's so sad.
Now I ask for justice: I want him banned ( :@#\), with his account and the relative characters (if more than one) ( :devil:).

What do you think? How I could defend my guild and its members from disbusting person like Namefad?

I hope some GMs understand this situation, and make some action ( :ban:).

It should be nice to have a message of type "This spell doesn't exists"... so I can know about the current combination...

Somebody knows if the glyph position is important?

Yeah, I assume that with Linux is different. The *.dmp files are just for Windows. I think you should be able anyway to get some sort of backtrace, but some Linux guru should pop up and say how ;-)

I know there must be support in the binary to produce the core file... I know I can produce the core file running PS into gdb enviroment, but I dont like this fact... It should be nice to produce the core file naturally, without any programmer skill and enviroment...

Maybe, when I'll have some spare time, I could help this wonderfull project to improve itself... but actually I'm too busy to read and study the source code...  :whistling:

Surely I want to improve Linux issues (for example arts audio support!  :thumbup:). Maybe the next year  \\o//

Hi Ceriy- for the first one - next time it happens hit the 'eye' toggle just above and try it again...it seems some NPC's wont train you with more than one point unless that filter is switched.

Yeah, I didn't tought to this trick! :)
