I think the towns got a lot going for it, everyone seems to use places like the fortress or the plaza for events. Ojaveda's a wonderful place to hang out. Lets hope this doesnt become a dead idea. Lets make it happen folks!

I just came across this thread and frankly... Im amazed.

You have some amazing ideas here folks. I'd love to contribute to the designs etc, time permitting. However, Ive yet to even read the whole thread yet. lol. But from what Ive seen so far, here are a few things which you may find relevant.

Portmeirion is the name of a village in Wales, which is best know as 'The Village' in the 60's serise The Prisoner.

The reason I love this place is because the architecture is such a unique landscape, with many different twists and turns, hidden nooks and crannies. Your rewarded for exploring, and I think that philosophy is part of the whole appeal of Planeshift. Another stylistic influence I reccomend is the Clibe Barker book Abarat. The location, Yebba Dim Day is a sea town, with buildings made from broken boats, sea shells and old wrecks built on top of each other.

Also what Ive seen of the Mushrooms so far remind me alot of the level design in American McGee's Alice, another great example of imaginative level design. I hope some of these help out with ideas and inspiration. If I can I'll contribute to this project in the future. Good luck guys.

I would have posted a new thread, but then I thought, Nah, I may as well not spam the boards, so heres my second character Cybus. Kran, obviously, Cybus isnt exactly what you would call the sharpest pickaxe in the sack. To be honest, he's a bit of an idiot, something Cristabella, his 'associate' likes to point out at every opportunity.

Cybus is a fairly reliable, well meaning guy, who sadly fell in with the wrong crowd. He met Cristabella on her first visit to Hydlaa, while he was buisy being lost in the deep underground mines. After seeing a potentially useful ally, Cristabella helped him out, and now he acts as her loyal second. He is utterly dependent on her for her intellect and shrewd cunning, and she on him for his willingness to be the first person to step into a dark room full of hostile creatures. Despite her constant griping over his intellect, She does have a slightly warped sence of affection for the big dumb lug, and maintains she is the only one in all of Yliakum who has the right to belittle him.

Heh, thanks for the kind words. Im a Graphic Designer and freelance illustrator who's been spending a LONG time trying to soak up the various aspects of anthro art, although I prefer other styles too. It just seems this is the more popular stuff. If your interested in more, my official gallery is here http://dennisillustration.co.uk/illus.html

I will be doing more with Planeshift in the near future time permitting, so your comments are very much appreciated. And yes, my signiture gave me a semi heart attack when I spotted it during the game. lol.

As a fellow newbie from the smae location, you have pretty much described my own story word for word. Yes, Maps would be helpful, but then some of the surprise is gone. Im so excited still at all the wonderful places I have yet to see, all the sneaky little nooks and crannies that have yet to be explored. And all of them found on my own, with no help form anyone. You will get lost, especially on the plains, you will get annoyed at times. Dont worry, you will find your way. This is a wonderful world. Explore.

Its a pity nobody seems to have the patience required. This isnt some quick little RPG with instant teleports to your favourite location. Its a huge sprawling world thats community based and centred around Role playing. Ive only been on 2 weeks and I get that.

The Death Realm is very hard for your first time. Once you have worked out where to go, it takes 3 minutes of running to clear it. Which Is kind of a shame. Im looking forward to more areas to explore there. But keep the faith fellow newbies. You will find your way.

Artwork featuring Cristabella, the Enkidukai who spends her spare time in the Death Realm. Cristabella is a devious and snarky girl who you can often find wading through sewers and other unplesent locations, slaughtering rats and avoiding most other creatures in the attempt to get as many Tria's as possible. Even if she hates Rats. And Sewers. And pretty much everything she has to do to get Trias. She's a devious, manipulative girl who's out for number 1, and will do anything to get her own way.
