Mac OSX Specific Issues / Re: Mac version 0.3.017

I've been playing for probably 4-5 hours today, and I don't think I've had a single crash so far :) (Well, once I think, but that was when I edited my description, and the win crashes all the time from that....)

Yeah I would really recommend sticking around for the OSX-client! I'm pretty new to this game (2-3 weeks before the big Wait started :P), and I'm completely stuck! Don't think any game ever got me like PS (I'm pretty picky about games, usually don't like any of them). The only ones that I've played that can compare to PS (in the way the got to me) is probably a few of the Final Fantasy-games :D

Oh and by the way, I've been trying to find a decent MMORPG to play while I wait for the OSX-client of PS, and all those that I've tried for OSX...suck.. Or have real potential, but they charge you money to play, or to unlock everthing fun...

Mac OSX Specific Issues / Re: New Mac Version?
« on: December 04, 2006, 02:58:19 am »
I have to agree.  PS, even in it's pre-Alpha stage, looks 20 times better than any completed mac "mmorpg".

Just a quick question for any mac gurus out there:  Is there anyway I can set my uptader.jar file to run by itself.  Say, like on a weekly basis?

Favorite passtime:  finding more efficient ways to be lazy.

I couldn't agree more, PS is the best MMORPG out there :P Maybe because the developers don't hurry with the code, take their time to do it right  ::)

I think you should have a look at crontab (try "man crontab" in Terminal, or google it), haven't tried it for Mac, but in my pre-Mac period, I used it on Linux and it worked real nice :)

Mac OSX Specific Issues / Re: User System Specs

Computer type (i.e. Powerbook, G4 Tower, etc): iBook G4
Mac OS Version (x.x.x): 10.4.8
Processor (speed, type): 1.3GHz, PPC/G4
RAM: 512MB
Video Card (type, VRAM): ATI Mobility Radeon 9550, 32MB (wich I'm pretty sure is shared with the RAM........)

Planeshift runs (y/n): Y, .016
Average FPS: Dunno.. Hydlaa lags like crazy, and the Bronze Gate is not an option, I'd guess on around 1 FPS...
Platform-specific bugs encountered: Sometimes textures are missing (ie black walls/floors/etc, but not always, can't seem to find a pattern as of when this occurs exactly), don't know if it's platform-specific or crappy-GFX-card-specific :P I also have problems with falling through floors etc, but as I understand it that's not a platform-specific issue :whistling:

about arrow attack, this is what i have found:
Friends with linux versions have no trouble casting the spell so it seems to affect only the windows version.
You dont need to cast anything for the client to crash, if you are seeing somebody casting it, it crashes too! :o just happened to me right now.
Seems that the animation for the spell is wrong, not for the casting, the spell, it does not show the arrow but an increasing bright white light, AFAIR this animation belongs to another spell.

Hope that helps locating the problem.

Ranust

I think the new animation for Summon Missile is great, really nice  However, I found that there is a problem with the Flame Burst-animation.. There is nothing.. The nice dance (very nice addition I must say) and the red "circle-thingies" around the character, and then a hit without any visual flames or anything..
