General Discussion / Re: Build your own shortcut Xml, share, trade!
« on: December 16, 2008, 03:44:05 am »
This shortcut is what I use when for quickly targeting npcs....
/target clear
/target next npc
/attack

I might have gotten the commands wrong a bit, but that the idea, it automatically targets the nearest NPC regardless of who you had targeted before.

got it, Thanks!  \\o//

I have some other mods that I want to keep, however.

Was trying out the mods, this one doesn't work that well and i'm trying to find the original, no such luck. Could anyone point me in the right direction? I need the exchange.xml for the data>Gui> folder.
p.s. Wasn't sure where to put this either... XD

Out of interest, what are the advantages of banking your tria instead of just carrying it with you?

So, I've come back to the game after a few months....what's this thing i hear about banking and storage? and what exactly are the rules for furniture. (when you place furniture on the ground, what's stopping other people from taking it?

By finding a GM on irc, how would we do this? I'm in the same situation, and don't know how to get onto irc without loading the map.

you know, you can always move it to oja, i mean there's hardly any law enforcement there at all! (i mean, there are like fifteen million rogues crawling all over the place and no guards in sight!)

the reason we have so few big RP events is cuz our GM's and stuff are still busy dealing with all the bugs! this game is in pre alpha stages yet! plus, this game is free, these guys don't get much if any money developing the game! so, come on, let them do some work. (if you feel really evil, max out everything combat, then RP as an evil demon here to kill everyone! that would be hecka fun...)

Newbie Help (Start Here) / Re: Charisma
« on: June 20, 2007, 10:02:05 pm »
I know this might not be the appropriate place to comment on this, but "training" charisma doesn't seem to make much sense in my opinion. If there was a "Persuade" skill instead of charisma to be trained, then it would make more sense. I don't think charisma is something that really can be taught, it is more of a capability that develops fully with practice in regular social interactions, and neither I think there are plastic surgeries in Yliakum to make people improve their appearance. Charisma, like Intelligence, should be untrainable, and if improvable by other means rather than paying a training to make magic with the OOC progression points to make your character prettier and speak like a great leader all of a sudden; the amount you could improve them realistically should be very limited.

Intelligence is also a measure of how much your charactar knows, so just like we send our kids to school to improve their intelligence, you can train with someone to learn more and there fore train your intelligence. the same can be done with the charisma. you ever heard of those books that tell you how to "get all the ladies and the money" ? once again, i bet some npc's can give you that kind of information. who says you can't improve yourself?

Duels Are inherently OOC they depend mainly on a players grasp of the controls, which isn't supposed to be existent. Also, an RP fight has no limits except for your imagination, which is how these RPGs got started (major tabletop DND player here) the freedom to do what you want in a combat scenario allows more challenge, more options, and ultimatley, more fun.

I agree! i just had my first RP fight defending duraza for certain reasons, and i had tons of fun! i find that just running around until you perform or recieve a one hit wonder is jsut boring. three cheers for RP FIGHTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :woot:

I agree we should do more rping, but we should still be allowed the option of the brackets. i often find myself having to use brackets to clarify something or help someone

A male stonebreaker is mining when he sees a beutiful hammer wielder. he instantly falls in love with her, and mines 10 copper ore, 20 iron ore, and 30 gold ore.  :o then he forges ten different silverweave weapons. he then ties them all to his groffel and sends them to the hammer wielder. The groffel comes back with everything still on it. there is also a note on it. it reads:
In order for me to accept this, you must have 50,000 tria, a pterodactyl (or whatever it is you fly on), and 7 inches in your pants.
the stone breaker runs for some paper and responds:
I have 100,000 tria, two pterodactyls, but not even for a beautiful dwarf like you will i cut off 3 inches.
-OR- (secondary punchline, not as great as the first)
If i had 7 inches in my pants, i'd have to be careful not to step all over it.
