I've just downladed the official driver from http://ati.amd.com/support/drivers/linux and performed the default installation of it... the invisible textures are now visible, but others that where visible are not !
I guess I have to study more carrefully the configuration of the driver

Same problem here, with Debian testing
I've just run the updater (only problem during update : "up" file)...
