First of all I must confess how much I regret to read these posts.
I am a member of this guild and some of the readers may accuse me for not being objective. I assure you that my critics here is not associated with any so called OOC properties but about the gaming itself.
About the first thread: It is only saying to the new comers how to get first aid in a way that they can understand better. There are not any words that can be manipulated as a pressure on the newbie to become a member of the guild. Our guild has its own reasons to be and has its own decision making mechanisms, some of them still being discussed as well; which does not mean that any player from my nationality can be our member. However, they are surely welcomed on their request for help, what is already the same for any other player. Our members have had good relations with the others in the community before and there is no reason to end it after. We already paid necessary amount of attention to use group of guild windows to talk our internal discussions. There is no need to mention this in the forum over and over.
If there is a rule about the language of the posts in the forum, the procedure should not be to open up a discussion like this but simply erase it and send a notification to the forum starter why it is being erased.
I wonder if these criticizers wonder "How many of the guilds can manage to exist without any common OCC properties between their members" or is this really something worth wondering. There will be always something uncontrollable.
I see PlaneShift as a medium letting player to role-play in a way they want but who is to judge them to play accordingly. Playing people want to be free, to do what they want in a shell of an imaginary character. This is why there are no lions, prime ministers, nuke bombs ect in the game. But when you login as a character how much of you is left on the real word. You need to bring in some reality from your side in to the game a light to hold on, a light not get drowned. This light may be like a sparkle for some and for others a lightning. No one can 100 % be IC as also 100 % OOC. Even in real world we do role play.
I am curious about the ratio of number of registered users to the number of active players (online at least 4 of 7 days). How many of the players left the game just because they were not able to get just the basic help some which may know nothing about RP even thought want to play.
I really like the idea of Plane Shift. This opportunity allows me to thank to and congratulate everybody spending their valuable time, facing sleepless work hours to have a better PlaneShift world. So please consider these as recommendations/ideas from a supporting player.
