The Hydlaa Plaza / Re: Mac vs PC?

I've sold pcs for about 3 years (at both best buy and circuit city), and been working on them since i was about 9 (im 22 now). I personally can tell you out of all the comments seen here if you are going to buy a pc get a Sony Vaio, an Acer, an Emachine, or an Alienware. DO NOT and i repeat DO NOT buy an HP, Compaq, or Gateway. If you decide to go dell spend more than $1000 if you dont you are going to get alot of cut corners and problems. Just my 2 cents.

I know i would enjoy seeing some additional creatures out in the wilderness - running for 15 minutes i hear birds and animals but see nothing! :) but i do know the dev team is limited and is spread thin so i will just have to wait and see :) but i look forward to it though!

I could imagine something like this being put in "Kran take more damage when attacked with mining tools such as rock picks". Though i must wonder, if they are so hard how do they move? i just dont understand that.

I get the feeling if you cut a Kran open (if you can find a weapon sharp enough), he would get very mad and hurt you.... just a thought. ::|

I totally agree Parallo. I was simply saying if the soul travels to the death realm then the lifeless body (and everything with it would remain) how that works with clothing... well i have no answer for that hehe. I just would like to read an explanation as to how the death realm works in the world of planeshift. They do say there is no regard for corpses and it just seems like there is a piece to the puzzle we havent seen yet.

I would think since they are born of the crystal that they wouldn't really have hormones... i mean do they actually grow or are they born at the size they are now? They would most definitely have nerves to move and think, but you do pose an interesting question. I am no expert but I would have to say no hormones.

Excellent, I will look forward to reading that, I am as confused as everyone else about how it works. It is a breath of fresh air to have such an inventive system for death (being most MMORPG's use the exp loss). I would like to read as to how this fits into the plaeshift world as a whole and in with the setting and stories behind it. Other wise great job devs!

As i said early i do like this twist on death... I think losing exp is just a stupid way to deal with it...The death realm perhaps is your souls method of trying to find its way back to your body - if you fail you die.... or put a time limit on it, if you dont get out of the death realm in less than some given amount of time your body loses any chance of being saved and then "permadeath" takes place. Another idea could be that you lose all of your equipment in the area in which you died, you were resuccitated and then have to travel out and get your equipment... if you don't get there in time and someone else finds it they can loot it - it would become free game... just a thought.

I personally like the death realm, nothing more annoying than falling down a hill to die and lose all the experience you recieved all day, but not in Planeshift! you get to keep all that hard earned experience, and your weapons and armor dont decay, you dont get wounds. It is a fitting way to discourage dying without a major stepback. I found my way out rather quickly the first time, just takes a little exporing and you get used to it. I much rather have this than lose experience, or get wounds, or damage my equipment!

Very Awesome! I think dressing up the area where the blade attaches to the pole would nifty, but i could see a mage wielding that poleaxe and perhaps even using it as a sort of staff/scepter... could be really cool... Thanks!! its awesome!

Nice :). I dunno if they will get that crazy with them... but still nice :), I just hope they can find a way to help create a need for the crafted weapons, if they do i think it will greatly increase the desire for crafting as a job.

But this whole concept of weapons with glyphs or gems or some magical ability imbued in them is just neat :)

Next up shields and armor that when you get hit you gain life and they cast meteor upon you taking damage hehe.

Still gotta have some things that people enjoy from other MMORPG's, Im not saying clone it but you can use some of the ideas (as long as they are good ideas  :P)

And using weapons with special abilities, to me anyway is sort of a standard, unless you wanted to get away form the status quo and do something different with the weapon when glyphs or gems are added. Maybe just use them as a way to affect enemies with a weakness to that particular glyph instead of something that affects everything. or even not have any type of speciality weapons and just have standard weapons... unless you could melt down the gems and mix them into the steel stock, and create harder, lighter metals for making the weapons... then that opens a whole new can of worms... I dunno, but that is a pretty cool sword you describe there :)

But perhaps if you imbued a red way into the handle it would increase the attack speed of the weapon but maybe decrease base damage, vs blue may have the opposite effect slow the weapon down but increase damage rather than add a status effect. If you imbued it in the blade it would add a burning effect or freezing effect to the damage dealt... just a thought.
