DON'T DO:
    planeshift --repair

i deleted the 0.5 version and downloaded the whole 0.5.1 from the main site
and i no longer have that problem
1 down 999 to go!

I AM running the 0.5.1 version; at least that's what I d/l'd & installed.

But, running "./planeshift --help" returns:
PlaneShift Updater Version 2.20 for linux64.

Hi All,

I've been playing PS again after a long break.  I've been using my main character.  But on my way to BD, the portal was incomplete and wouldn't let me pass.  So I tried to relog.  But after logging back on,  I could't start that character!  It would go to the main opening (Hydlaa) screen, but not load.

I tried loading my other characters, and they all load fine.

{I also tried doing a --repair, and found out the hard way that that doesn't work (see Topic on Do Not Use Repair).  And then reinstalled.}

After reinstalling, I still could not load my main character.

Please help!  I don't want to lose my main character.    

Oh, I should add, the notification window (where the MOTD is displayed) has:
    Loading...
    Requesting connection

But the screen just stays there.

I've seen the 'Event' button in the Quests info window, but had no idea what it was for.

  e) No idea; I haven't participated in one yet.

6) GM events are made so that the players have a 99% chance of winning. Is it a good idea to lower this chance, making it so that a player can loose?
  d) Other... A mixture of chances; not always hard, not always easy.

7) Small events always tend to be more realistic. Big events are always... big. Do you prefer Big epic events, or small events such as a woman in need of herbs?
