i agree with xillix. i just started getting back into the game. last few log ins  the game looked devoid of people. today i saw activity and soem rping even! i saw some old folks too rping. glad to see its back. relearnign and customising shortkeys from memory is a bit tiering lol. 2 mroe log ins and quick brush up on game from freinds and i am rdy to start questing and making new freinds :D

In case a new player does come in lets try to be helpful folks. months befroe i had to elave the game due to real life .. i remember two new players i was helping being scolded in plaza for not bieng in RP mode. Everyone needs a break. Give a new guy a break for a week or 2. Give tips and pointers and we will end up with a new freind in game ! :D today soemone greeted and stuff with me. sent him a msg telling him i am too busy releanring the game right now to even respond to rp lol. Hope to see you all soon in game.

i vote for all u devs, gms , mods and old old players:D. I still look in on the forums. But not well to be able to play much for last year. Hopefully once i a better i can get back in. Seriously all u old players who still in the game and all the gms devs and mods... get urself teleported to a mirror server for a private event lol. Best gift ur can give urselves. see u all online someday.

Hmm looks like its still a crafting game :( . nice for those who love crafting. been waiting for alchemy/ herbology / and the magic enchanting skills. try to diversify a bit folks. Before a gm bites my head off... its time for a new meaningful job than the crafting of "warcraft". will pop in now and then. i think this is my first post in over a year here. Last i was in game was in 0.18 and yes been a while. came sometime to chk out the new town from krans and stuff. But with none of the jobs i wanted and rp boredom wont be back till i see some job that intrests me. Crafting  the usual type seems to be where this game is headed. If it gets back onto its oringinal plans  wpuld be nice. Dont need rejoinders form GMs on this post. Its just an observation from an oldplayer passing thru to see if any intresting stuff that "i" liek are in. Other than that liked the competition for the new towns being created. Very nice. Just give some thought for those who arnt too crazy about "warcraft" crafting -,- . see u in a few months to see whats going on. good luck.

Loving this thread :D read a lot of posts and loved them all. I particularly remember what Dajoji said on page 2 or 3 of this thread. the bulleted point form on how a guild can be approved. After reading so far i just wanted to post on something i didnt see . Maybe i didnt read one or 2 posts in the last 6 pages (afking a lot here while reading .. busy rl lol) .

I like this idea of approving guilds. However so far from what i have read, approval is based on keeping in line with settings. So the benifits of an approved guild could be in getting gm participation in making thier guild hosted events more fun  (spl effect support maybe).

I am hoping before guilds are approved the guild system mechanics are tweaked. In case the situation of a guild leader changes ( has real life issues and cant come online ... or suddenly the power and popularity changes his behaviour) then the guild should be able to have a internal council system that can allow the the guild to continue to function. Maybe a new concept of a guild council leading a guild rather than a singular leader. That may allow for guilds to allow to be active longer.

To reduce new 20- member guilds from cropping up maybe only 50+ member guilds(and soem other benchmarks like minimum 5 people online at any time), can get the council system. well soemthing like that. What concerns me is that an entire guild depending on one leader who for unforseen reasons cant function as a leader may lead to an approved guilds death. If soem game mechanic tweaks are made .. it may help improve longetivity of guilds, reduce numerous seasonal guilds that are formed and die in less than 6 months. This may help the guilds creating a richer rp history of themselves and a rich tapestery of inter guild politics and dynamics. Keeping in mind that most of them will eventually try to be in-tune with settings would make approving of guilds easier.Also if certain changes are brought into guild administration, it could reduce the number of 'seasonal guilds' and bring in more concreate rp-goal-based, longer living guilds.

I love the ideas so far. But i feel if these things are addressed before implemntaion of apporval of guilds. Once we see a consolidation of guilds and the advent of new towns, maybe a "home-town'. Please note the exmaple ebing told now is a future end goal idea.. which could be achieved eventually.

The Example-- Hydlaa can host 2 caravan(merchant + martial rp goal type) guilds due to the winch + 1 religious guild(due to temple)+ 2 maigc guild (magic shop, magic garden)+ 1 scholarly guild (cos of library)+2 martial guilds (cos of arena and winch near it) + 1 profession guild(having weapon and armor repair,alchemists, herbalist, enchanters mostly )... while.. Oja can host 2 caravan (due to merchant district) + 1 religion (due to temple yet to come)+ 1 profession guilds( cos it has lots of shops) +1 crafting guild (crafters and miners due to forge and mines nearby).

The example is just an idea how the game can limit guilds in game in the future when we do a wipe and stuff.. and also to promote active guilds by setting preconditions for being allowed by one of the cities (in future ) to host them. If certains conditions are not met over time like members reduce below the minimum needed or number of people online and number of hrs online lower than minimum neededcould lead to a one month probation by the city to allow the guiolds to fix themselves thru merging, recruiting or playing more. This would help merge settings and inter guild rps better.. eventually leading to a more riccher rp and in game 'immerssive' experience. well just an idea of the possibility. it may take a long time as many small steps needed on the way.

Fly! lol no seriously .. if i think in practical terms.. i am hoping the devs unlock a new skill.. like alchemy or herbology stuff.. would bring in a new job craze , new plants and minerals to dot the world and combinations to keep people active  :D . The enchanting skill will be nice too.. but i only see crafting as the only real job in planeshift :( wish something with minerals(alchemy) and plants(herbology) is implemtned to make permanant and temporary boosters. Would be intresting. Lower lvls the boosting is temporary with increasing timing out buffs with higher lvl and at top most lvl its a one time permanant boost or soemthing. the buff aybe be for equipment (alchemy) and for pet or self (herbology).. hmm well always dreamt about it .. hehehe but so far happy that its moving ahead.

lol rongar hi.. i see u must have read my first post with all the typos.. real sorry bout that :). ahh nice to hear bout the dueling option now. lol since u were one of my teachers in dueling i guess i will meet u soem time. i may gewt soem free time soon to come online and meet the other buddies too. unless all are on thier alts -,-  lol

Argh i tried to type a long post upon re reading it i realised too mnay typos for me to edit them. well it was my concern for newbies , a pvp area (like the no challenge needed pit at arena) and spawn upon death from pvp in these regulated pvp areas(if there are any). cos spawning at DR on losing a pvp in these accepted area would kill all pvp practice.  I hope some thing will be done about it.. if it hasnt been done already. thnx.

well the train a bit and then if continued get less exp sounds very nice. great idea. hope they can think of an algorithm for it before version 1.0 i guess.  but i agree on the rp and power lvling conflict. non fighting rpers have to sorta OOC fight to get the exps to train skills. if new jobs .. -,- and here i mean some thing more than crafting too, if maybe there were say... 4 jobs like..err.. fighter(magic, melle all killing stuff), enchanter (with that esteria and stuff), crafter, herbalist, alchemist, farmer, cook err soem of these.. and having these other jobs give exp like killing or a bit lesser or more than  killing..depending on difficulty and duration will make people do these jobs and rp. Now the new jobs would need exp rewards. we know crafters dont get exp..but they can sell to player sor NPCs for money. now ifg exp rewards are increased for a few of these jobs. The other jobs who will have hoards taking after them wont have many buyers of thier wares. Maybe a NPC can buy all that player can sell i guess... but a need for say a food item from cook has to be generated amongst the players. so too potions of alchemists and herbalists. that way trias can also be generated for new jobs i guess. maybe a food item gives a spl effect on ur self and a boost or soemthing..that players will play top tria to buy..both rpers(spl efect or sign on the body or chat schematics) and killers(stat boost)...err sioem thing like that...in case of generating intrest and need by the community for food and thus a demand for cooks. who in turn need exotic ingredients which drives indirect demand from alchemists, herbalists and farmers. Also... examples of course.. :) .....  miners at high levels can identify and pick soem special rocks but cant use them..but are the only gus who can pick or dig for it whenn thye see ground a spl colour. they sell these spl rocks to alchemists for thier potion making who in turn sell them to rpers( for spl effects) or to fighters/miners/cooks/crafters/farmers to give stat boost in some way to help them in thier work.

say..soem dishes need very rare exotic igredients.. needs high levels of all job classes to work together...maybe a dish... animal part  form most strongest in the world(rare loot form that animal too) be brought by fighter. Herbalist, farmer and achemist (with help from miner in identification) at high lvl can give another ingredient or mixture. then these are prepared by cooks in a special cooking vessel that gets destroyed after one use..err cos the vessel is enchanted after being crafted..(so both crafter and enchanter have to have high lelve for that too)..and then the dish is cooked...and that dish/ dishes with different combinations give cool spl effects ( like glow/ darken/ clour body/eyes, float a bit above ground eveywhere, armor or some other equipemtn also glows when dish poured on it or taken to enchanter for enchanting)....

ok lot of ramblings like that lol . Got too many ideas like that :). But i like the idea suggested in earlier posts. only thing is ..release a few more jobs and make the exp rewarding more balanced. Also create a need for the jobs. weapons was always needed. maybe reduce the durability of crafted weapons a bit more..not quality..a bit less so that peole do more wear and tear and buy new ones. not sure though.

Hmm not with standing certain comments on temper tantrums... this tester has tested and found the lack of server/client/game status in the website as a hinderence to attracting new players(testers or potential devs and contributors) and also gives a bad impression of the game to the people who download and cant login. Existing players/testers can wait or not i suppose. But some courtesy should be shown to new players. y not make the download page temporarily say "New Client coming soon. Please check in a few Days. Thank you for your intrest. Please visit the forums _______________ to know more about game play and make new friends to later meet in the game! Hope to see you in game soon!"  

Err ..ok that was a bit too friendly lol...but somoething like that...or in the download page removal of all links to 0.18 client and a msg saying "Game is currently being updated. please check back in 3 days" and maybe a bar that shows the server status... -,- not that mysterious failed , wait or number either. Some thing that newbies can understand like "down,testing,up" .

On the matter of information to current testers....hmmm whatever may be the discussion..the testers are part of the game..so may need a bit more info ..also testers may need to wait. My thoughts on this as a tester varies. But new players need a bit more courtesy. It doesnot potray the game in good light to those that download and try to connect and then delete the game for they think its dead or otherwise. Again for certain people who think this is a 'temper tantrum' ...hmm you are indeed lucky to have met chlidren who talk like the way i have in this post. They must be diplomatic for their age i should say. Congragulations :) . I wish i had met such children who throw such tantrums.

PS: I am saying post info on download section for newbies. in case the msg was lost in my long post :)

Hmm Well.... i totally agree with what the first post says. I fell especially sorry for those who are downloading the client 0.18 as we read these thread and wait for new version. The onus of informing new players who are downloading the game is on the game team. And as far as i can see this hasnt been bothered by them at all. Busy they maybe...however a simple updating of the websites on the state of the game, like server /client update , doesnot take long. especailly for the admin of the websites. If a simple thing as that is a major coordination problem for the team, i can well imagine how the rest gets done. This is common sense i think. If it cant bedone byt he person who has admin privilages to update the website, then get another to join who has the foresight of doing it. We old players can search and find out the reason and wait. But new players need to to see that info easily. Lack of an easy display of crucial info would make new players (if they still have a good impression about the game when client 0.18 they just downloaded does work) think that the game is dead or is so mis managed, some (especially future potential devs) would not bother waiting around or be curious to try later.

Hmm... well again i am i think wasting my time on a topic that wouldnt be considered impotant by the teams i guess. lol only response i get is more important things to do and few people to do too many things. If updating the websites to inform new players of the update takes the team 30mins-1hr more to finish updates i would think its well worth the effort. Oh well ... its all old stuff being told again by me in a new post. Realy feel sorry for those new players who have downloaded at this time are checking the client very few mins and wondering whats gone wrong. Lucky are those feww who then bothered to get themselves intot he forum to find out whats wrong.

See ya all in game....and i guess ...never see those who give up at this moment cos they think the game is dead as they cant get in and can find no news easily.

well i must agree that an element of rp action is certainly lacking. Also on the ulber monsters that can be soloed now and thus reduces dependency on team work.This becomes evident when everyone restlessly waits for a next version of the game ;D . The game has however succeded to be more immersive.  I am glad to have read this thread. A very nice bunch of postings and a real discussion  :) . Hopefully the dev and settings team can surprise us later on in future updates with a more rp action in the game and maybe make supre mobs in stone labrynths requiring team work. And yes the players do an awesom job in being actors and stuff with alts and  create some nice player events  :) . A very good thread and a pleasure to read all the posts  :) .

Nothin amusing about me wanting to know the question too. I havnt even thought of any conclusions u or any other poster here have thought. I saw a tendency of discussing real life Philosophical issues Using Plane shift as a template, which made me wonder if some have forgotten the complexity fo the job if every detail of social life was to be set by settings.That made me post. But as i have always said...they are are your opinions and these are mine...so i guess its for the readers to read and find yours or mine amusing..or both amusing  :) . The .. err...'discussion' on philosophical issues...if they maybe classified as such.....would have been better suited in a different board on the forum..maybe a new board. Was just my suggestion to mods. Anyway..you are right it is your thread and i am not forced to take part in it  :) . Please continue to discuss  :) .

Very well...wrong choice of words on my part..err the 'deal with it' part. How about ....err.... "being thoughtful" that it is a game and not real life? Settings gives certain boundaries in which we play RP. :oops: ...... But coming back to the thread at hand. Black flame - holy or unholy ...as the threader has asked...i too would be intrested in the answer. Thank you settings  :)
