I did the apple quest and then asked him for this quest. I tried discarding the quest but the game won't let me discard it. I'm not sure what to do about that. I thought that might fix the problem only it won't let me discard. 

Now I'm getting tired of asking people ingame what I'm supposed to do to make steel. I've tried asking several people and all I proceed in doing is making dust with their recommendations. Others tell me I need a book to use the forge and that the Renquist guy gives it to me after I finish the quest, but people tell me I can't finish the sword making quest without that book. Now when I ask for help, I get either more nonsense (bless the people who are still nice enough to try and help others out) or I get a tell from someone that tells me to stop shouting and get the %$@ out of the game if I can't figure it out for myself. I could really use a little help here.
