Hello!

Ingame,  from on second to the other, graphics turned blurry. I relogged, and situation stayed the same. Looking like this:

Any ideas, why?

I have an ATI Mobility Radeon 9600, and run on Xubuntu.

Greetings -

spacecat

EDIT:

reboot did it. sorry for the hussle.

I wish Materis' family and friends all the strength and soul they need to mourn, and even more to still be able to feel joy and happiness and eventually heal from the pain.

I'll light a candle for him.

Linux Specific Issues / Re: "stripy" screen after entering world
« on: June 04, 2007, 05:52:46 pm »
greetings induane.

allright, i installed the proprietary ati-driver and that fixed the graphics problem. thanks for that one.
so i got to play and noticed that the further i proceed from my starting point (after getting killed) the slower the client reacts to anything i do, meaning mouse movements/clicks as well as typing/using keyboard. i figured that playing on xubuntu instead of kubuntu would help, but it seems the same. my internetconnection is a dsl, so that shouldnt be a problem; but can it be that my notebookspecs are simply too small for this game? i mean, it just fulfills the minimum requirements. so, is there anything i can change in the ps-setup or anything else to use as little of cpu as possible? (in fact it uses the whole 100%)

all the best

spacecat

EDIT: oh, and after, say 10min of dabbling around in the game it says 'connection lost-try again in 5min' or sth like that. however that should be a server's issue i guess? it just happened to occur each time i tried to play (since yesterday three times), thats why i report it.

hi induane!

[off topic] before anything else i want to say THANK YOU VERY MUCH. there were 2 problems i could fix before this thing thanks to your replies in other threads.

ok, back to topic:

direct rendering seems to be enabled, it says:

spacecat@spacecat-laptop:~$ glxinfo | grep direct
direct rendering: Yes

concerning the specs, i thought i posted them already, well here they are again:

kubuntu 7.04, intel pentium m 1,5ghz, intel 855pm chipset, ati mobility radeon 9700/64mb vram, 512mb ram.

is anything missing?

best regards _ spacecat

hi all!

many seem to have graphics problems, but i didnt find sth like my problem in the forums:
does anyone else have a screen like this after entering the world? (attempting to play for 1st time)

http://mz-screenshots.blogspot.com

opening the GUIs and interacting with them seems to work just fine.

my specs are kubuntu 7.04, intel pentium m 1,5ghz, intel 855pm chipset, ati mobility radeon 9700/64mb vram, 512mb ram.

any ideas what might be the problem/how to solve it? i want to get addicted to a game again...

thx - spacecat
