Just quickly checked, I was wrong.. I don't have it (it was a while ago I did it)

But only thing that happens is that my fonts in chat are pretty big, while the tabs are very small.
But I see resizing the chat menu fixes that (make it a little larger).

2
I think I had this issue also, but only when I started with a fresh config.
I renamed my whole planeshift folder in ~/library/application data/planeshift to planeshift-backup

After that I restored my old configuration, and the font size was alright again.
I can try to recreate the issue, but I have no clue where to find the actual font settings, to compare them.

Ok sorry about that, I wasn't sure if this would solve it.

I run a ATI Radion 2600 my self, and this two lines solved my previous darkness issues, but they where not to bad.
But at the moment it's a bit darker for me then usual, but colours are looking good..

I updated my post above, I got the old config working again.
But I have now all of a sudden the same darkness issue as you guys.

-edit: played around, and using one of both of the lines:

Video.OpenGL.Shader.Cg.Enable.Fragment=false
Video.OpenGL.Shader.Cg.Enable.Vertex=false

Both cause this issue, if I add the the two lines I cannot see anything. If I use one it's a bit better.
But I removed both lines completly from the config now and I can run around without issues so far, and no darkness.

Mac OSX Specific Issues / Re: Mac OSX Updater
« on: December 01, 2008, 11:00:07 pm »
Sorry I didn't explain it fully, but If I just run the updater (and did this a few times) it for sure
gave me the message Im running the last version already.

And I do not want to confuse anyone else now, and might sound stupid but it did start the update somehow.

6
Im not sure if I will be the only one, but it might be helpfull.
I had some performance issues on my graphics, audio runned fine, but just the graphics where a bit choppy
and the textures where quiet dark.

I got this fixed at the end by renaming the planeshift folder in:

<Home directory>/Library/Application Support/>

And started the game again, so I start with clean settings.
And it runs fine now, all I have to do now is moving some bits back like screenshots and chatlogs.

edit: Fixed the old configuration also, althru it became very dark now..
Problem with my old config is that somehow the FPS cap was set to 11FPS ;)
Changed this in the ingame options and it's alright again.

It did not work for me in the first place aswell. It said I'm running the latest version.
I got it simply fixed by using the fullintegrity option with the updater.

Like this:

Code: [Select]
/Applications/PlaneShift/psupdater.app/Contents/MacOS/psupdater_static -fullintegrity

Mac OSX Specific Issues / Re: User System Specs

[upgraded my mac, so I post a new reply]

Computer type: iMac Intel 24"
Mac OS Version: 10.5.5
Processor: 2.8 Ghz intel core 2 duo
RAM: 4GB
Video Card (type, VRAM): ATI,RadionHD2600, 256mb

No real big issues, it runned fine. Except some area's where exceptional dark. So I used the shader bug to fix this.
Further, it runs very smooth. A map loads like in 2-3 seconds!! Wow!! Stability is good, no crashes at all.

I have doing more some testing ealyer today.

And it haven't got a single crash, also it's less laggy. Like when I sent a chat
into guild, it could take upto 10 seconds before it showed up, and this is gone now also.

Now I wonder what happens if I enable texture compression again  ;)
Will try this in a couple of hourhs...

[Will make a new post on this so it's readable]

I tryed the old windows/magic bug now.. Disable Vertex Buffer Object..
And so far so good it seemed to help until the server crashed.
I'm not sure if it did.. (I need to go to see my bed  :P)

So please try the following:

So start "pssetup" from the application folder
change vertex from "default" to "off"
And try again..

I have been able to stick on for atleast 40min without a client crash (until the server crashed).
With running arround oja from one area to the other, spelling magic, seeing many other characters running arround.

Current client config changes for me:

-Applyed the fix to avoid a system freeze (See intel ATI bug)
       Video.OpenGL.Shader.Cg.Enable.Fragment=false
       Video.OpenGL.Shader.Cg.Enable.Vertex=false

-Disabled the compression (So far it's still disabled but no diference)

-And as last.. I did the above wich seemed to help.

But please confirm this, I need to go to bed badly.  ;) Please test it and see if it works, and keep us posted.

Have the same issues as above, using a Imac 20" 2.1Ghz intel Core 2 Duo and the great ATI graphics card.
Tryed to keep an eye arround to see if other people did something like magic. But even at the most quiet spot arround this seems to happen.

Sometimes I can stay in game for over 15min, sometimes only for 30sec. It seems to be very random.
And Yes I have tryed all posible fixes.

BTW I'm not totaly sure but I don't think the compression fix is not needed anymore. I have tryed many times but
enabled or disabled doesn't make a diference. Except the graphics look some better when it's enabled.

General Discussion / Re: Quest wipe.

Voted yes

-One of the few people that have been locked out, also no luck on the merchant way   :'(
Have been trying to get in there over the past year, but had to many quests that got bugged.

But also I don't have a real need for it, as the Winch has been opened for a little while and
I have been able to do the things I should have done.

Al-thru I would love to do the quests out there, but then again I regularly pickup a new quest
in other places which keeps me busy.

Mac OSX Specific Issues / Re: Game crash on startup.

Run DiskUtility and Fix Permissions. That should make it work on your second admin account. If it doesn't, tell me, and there's something else we can try.

I did tryed this as first thing, second thing I found I didn't had access to /logs, althru I fixed this I still have no luck.
But I'm fine running PS from the command line, and have no further bugs. It works very stable.

White Bomber:  It will be helpfull if you post your System specs in here aswell. If you have the same specs as Net creator, I may can get this type of mac shipped over to test with you guys.

If it crashes even before you can choose your character.
You can try to load it with Sudo and enter your password.

like:
sudo /Applications/Planeshift3D/psclient.app/Contents/MacOS/psclient_static

I was a normal user before, because of this I made my self a admin even this didn't work, also not
giving me all the permissions available. After playing around I was only able to start it correctly using
sudo. Or login as my first created admin account and from there I can just launch it the normal way.
