I use GraphicConverter in it's free version (ie: not registered, bad I know, but I don't use it much). Open the .dds save it as .png. Spend my time doing art not fussing over apps. :)

Embrace the newbs, and teach them the errors of their ways. Fondle their mailable minds and indoctrinate them into your cult of impervious thinking.

Long time forum reader, first time poster.

It never ceases to amaze me. The continuous concern over the quality of PS. I've been an active part of the art team off and on for a year and a half, very active for the past few months. I joined specifically to gain experience creating art assets for 3d graphics, and was not too concerned about the settings and universe of PS.

Never-the-less, I see specific aspects of the game that I would certainly have designed different (I have my own specific tastes, and often it is nothing more than an issue of taste). But now that I have gained some respect within the team I have been able to see PS from the inside. Items that I'd like to see different usually fall into one of three general categories (these categories are my own and are NOT official dev terminology): current design is set and will not change because it is established PS lexicon, does not conform to the overall PS plan, or is already in the plan but hasn't been implemented yet.

But the best thing I've found to date is that I'm getting to do concept work for PS and, sneaky b@st@rd that I am, I'm subtly influencing in-game assets by designing them the way I wan't them to look!

The moral of the story? It's been said before, but is worth repeating: The best way to influence PS is to join PS.
