I don't think they have been changed very much since then.

Then help me out.

I didn't mean it like that.

Lyoven moves sideways uneasily: "One should always mind one's words in public but I'm only a simple miner and not a town crier."

Certainly, lot's of changes have been made to the NPC's but not of that kind that would make this go away. Sorry. No I know why they used multiple choice responses in Neverwinter Nights.

In a way by saying this I thought I already was helping you out ... a bit ... no? ... not at all?  :-[

Did an extensive tryout of (all) linux games for the nth-time to see if there was anything remotely useful and entertaining. Despite PS's size and difficult (buggy) install on gentoo (nevertheless cool that its version in portage is being maintained by one amongst us), I tried it and stuck to it. Must have tried it at least one time before but did not get it to work then.

Moral of the story: People that are suited for this kind of game will find it eventually, just make sure it works the first time they try it. This is not the case at the moment, I think chances might even be as high as 30% that it wont work the first time (videocard problems, download and updater issues, install bugs, server offline!).I understand this, PS being alpha and all, but alpha and a large public don't go together. If the server would have been offline that day I most certainly wouldn't have been here.

The thing I found worst as a newbie were the NPC dialogs. I really needed to get adjusted to their restricted vocabulary. I don't think they have been changed very much since then. This has been an option in some of the previous polls (http://hydlaa.com/smf/index.php?topic=30659.0), but I think it may have gone too unnoticed because it probably were the more experience people voting for newer things for them to do (i.e. crafting). Has anyone taken the side of the new users in that poll? Just a suggestion.

The Hydlaa Plaza / Re: www.planeshift.it in Dutch!

I think this shows why we shouldn't have Planeshift in Dutch. While it isn't really funny, its just plain silly and hard to translate.

Is there anyone with insight who could give us an idea of what alchemy might bring us? I don't have the impression it is very well known.

At least furniture making/carpenting would be similar to something that already exists (crafting with metallurgy, but now with wood), including an economy system and all. There might be a chance that people will buy furniture for their guildhouses, if there is any money left over from buying those  ;D, and there's also that NPC... The only problem would be where to get the wood, but then again there are already apple trees in the plaza.

Disciples of Talad be warned, there may be idea spoilers from here on  ;), but do keep on doing these polls, they almost make me think Hydlaa is a democracy  \\o//

Lyoven mumbles: The hard part of winning the lottery doesn't seem so much the picking of the numbers, but more not forgetting to collect the prizes.  :P Nevertheless this is an alternative investment to consider for stocks on the HSE.

Quite right Yolantha! Could we have a bit more well-thought-through posts like this please?

*edit*

Want to add that an imbalance in economy can also exist because of human interactions and customs: Steel stocks (which are produced much faster than gold ores) still sell for 2k, allthough I havent been able to find anyone to buy them (or iron ores for that matter) lately. I can make nice quality 70 (and a bit later maybe quality 100) SS. They are slightly better than Harns' swords (quality 50), so I would sell them for a slightly higher price (400 trias or so, thats a huge loss on the steel stock involved but ok if this is the new economy). I'm sure some of us (especially the beginners) buy swords from Harns occasionally. And these swords just last a bit longer. However I'm unable to find a buyer for these swords. So much for economy when items between level 0 and 30 don't sell and it takes years to level up. Let me know if you think I'm being unreasonable.

My first feeling was to go with Furniture Crafting, as it is a large field and seems to be in line of latest developments. However impulsively I chose Underwater Basket Weaving nonetheless because it seemed a nice niche (I dont know what it means exactly though). Actually, when only one option will be worked out, Furniture Crafting will be much better, so Im changing my vote here.

The ironic thing of this all is that I just finished the "Sierann is waiting" quest which involves fake trias brought into circuit by an official instance  :whistling: (I suppose I can say this without spoiling).

After a bug made me disqualify from a tournament on my birth day, I think this will be the next worse day in my life because of PS (well not directly PS, but) today I had organized my marriage party, and now it seems everything ruined...

My condolences to you Stylee :(.
