I enjoy PS just as much as the next guy, and I must commend the devs for their excellent job, but the problem is, I can't see the excellent job they've done! My screen seizures between several different images; I took 3 screenshots:

Nvidia 6.14

Edit: ...And the previous version worked fine, graphics wise.

RP fights can be far more descriptive, and thus entertaining, than duels. As long as your opponent is mature enough to understand they can lose, RP fights are the best things about RPing, and since RPing is the best part of PS...

Music definitely needs more people.

So I take it that http://www.planeshift.it/recruitment.html is out of date, where it doesn't state that there are any open positions?

I may be willing to help (in 2 years when I'm 18), depending on what is required. I can play piano, and I can compose, but I don't have the equipment and software needed to produce it.

Talad fixed this problem this morning - hopefully it stays clean :)
hmm... it's not fixed on mine. Unless google hasn't refreshed their database yet.

Yes it's a call for modellers, not players, but that's how I found PS

I'm not sure where you've been, but I'm in need of PP; I have excess money (not much but some). Try mining?

There is no real IC way of explaining how you can train without a trainer. ...who taught you?

Currently I must now return to a trainer to get more theoretical knowledge.
Count one that one, without players being forced to return to the trainer PowerLeveling would be much easier. This game is about Roleplaying.

That would take a lot less change to the database and code.

Unless you are a programmer (and if you are, my appologies), what do you know of what would take less code or not?

Either way, I do not want the devs working too hard on trying to balance training, economy, or anything really. If they do, the next time they finish a new job/skill, they will have to rebalance the whole system again. To Do List: 1) Finish Content ...then... 2) Rebalance system

In-Game Roleplay Events / Re: Duraza's Greatest Trick [RP]

For those who don't know (which would be close to everybody), I was lying to get undercover with Velh and Noriin, and I had almost succeeded. Then I saw Xeonart, in danger and I broke cover to save him.

Anu's account wasn't the original one. I had betrayed them earlier (I had stabbed Noriin in the back, severly wounding her), then the server crashed, and when we got back, I was told that Noriin had had 'Rock Armor' on at that time (because I wasn't there when it was cast) so the blade would have broke, not hurt her. The difference: the first time I had injured Noriin, the second time I was beheaded  :( ...I liked the first one better

General Discussion / Re: Reason to Celebrate
« on: December 24, 2007, 05:55:55 am »
How can we have holidays in PS share the same date as in reality when time doesn't flow equally fast in both places? A planeshift year will last something around a month, if I'm not mistaken?

Unless time in PS and time in RL have the same speed, it wouldn't work to let holidays happen on the same day. This also means that we can't pick a RL date to have our IG holiday on though...

The current RL to PS time ratio is 1/6 I believe. If you wanted to have a holiday every RL year (as that would be less confusing than having one every 2 months), the answer is simple: hold the holiday every 6 PS years, lasting for at least a PS week, which would be more comfortable for the players. This kind of thing isn't unheard of; the ancient Hebrews had festivals lasting for at least a month (I think) every 7 years.

@bilbous I was thinking the exact same thing just before I read your post!  ;D Well, except for the pole dancing thing.

Go... Player-Events!

since the other out of game events were modeling events id like to see something diferent.. voted for short story because it seams the most accessible one
Really? There were modeling events? Awh, I should have found this game earlier

General Discussion / Re: New players and Role Play
« on: December 04, 2007, 01:55:20 am »
As a relatively new player I never found RP awkward or strange. In fact, the main reason I was drawn to this game was the RP aspect. At the time it was a completely new concept to me and that's what made me choose this game over the thousands of other 'free' games that are out there.

I, like Zan, find that playing a char completely different from myself is what makes it really exciting. If a char is similar to the player, it may be hard to draw the line between RP and RL. We are all actors in a massive online improv act, and sometimes just as funny as an improv act.

We need to attract people on the basis that this is a mmoRPg, not a MMORPG; which, I think, the team has done a fairly good job of doing already. Then, the newbies will easily fit in, as the RP is what they came for.

That's my 42 cents (even though some of those cents have been stated before)

Right: "...knows that I can't spell..." use correct grammer please  ;D

My vote is diablo because I didn't realize they had tails and horns, sweet! [ ;D typo]

General Discussion / Re: Roleplaying a corpse
« on: November 17, 2007, 08:25:39 pm »
I agree, /sleep would be very useful. Not only for RPing corpses, but in other cases too. Let's say someone pushes me down and I fall, hit my head and become unconsious. I'd rather use /sleep than /sit, because the /sit animation looks too "relaxed" to appear unconcious, especially for my Ylian. /sleep could be the same animation as /die, though a /wake animation would have to be added. Anyway, that's my 4.2 cents.
* Huget casts a vote for the /die_hard_with_a_vengeance command

\\o// Nice, I like it. It would give some originality to the quest system. Or perhaps (though this would be more for an event) a random note left on the ground with desperate cries for help:  :'( "Mommy?"

Another letter up, hopefully I'll soon get my memories back, then the real drama begins.

Also note that in this letter Arcov's talking as if this is the first time he's died, it's actually his second, he just doesn't remember the first.

Suno: /me scratches his head "A mention? Where? Who? What?"
