I think that NPC's should be able to answer "where is [NPC Name]" if they are in the same town.  For example, if I were to ask Sharven "where is Harnquist" he would be able to reply to me.

General Discussion / Sword Smithing

I have recently started mining and smelting, and now I would like to start making swords.  I have already completed the necessary quest and obtained the Book of Blades and I know I have to have it equipped to the mind slot.  My metallurgy skill is now 6, so I do have the ability to make the steel needed for most swords, as well and iron for the handles (or so I'm told).  All I need to know now is how to go about constructing my first sword, some tips would be appreciated.  Thanks.

P.S. My character name is Klamarious Omnious, if anyone would like to communicate with me in-game.

Technical Help: IN GAME bugs (after loading world) / Map Not Found

I came out of the sewers in Hydlaa, then my character fell off the world, so to speak, and now i keep getting map not found flashing on my screen repetitively.  I have tried unstick and signing off and back on, nothing is working.  Can someone please find a GM to reset my position?  My character name is Klamarious Omnious.

im going back to runescape, it may not be as good as planeshift, but at least the server doesnt constantly crash.  maybe ill come back in another couple months to see how its going like last time i stopped playing.  later all.

Planeshift is not in Alpha stage, it is in Beta stage.  Games are not available to the public while in Alpha stage, they are tested in house until the Beta is ready, then the public is allowed to test them.

Also, the stats on the server status page are frozen, as mentioned in a post that was posted about a month ago.  I know this because it is still stuck on August 29. 2008, so something big must have happened.

Well it's been about 4 days since I was able to log on, does anybody have any new news whatsoever, or do I just need to find another game, because sitting around with nowhere to go  and no one to talk to is irritating the hell outta me.

I was not able to play last night, this morning, or now..on my lunch break.  I have heard that it has been up, but then was down again in a matter of minutes.  I realize this game is free, so you are limited to the quality of server you can use, so quit rubbing it in people's faces.  I also realized the developers have their own lives to live, but they should know that if they are going to put up a game, it becomes a big responsiblity and should not have started allowing people to play the beta, if they are not able to put the time in to keep the players happy.  So don't reply to me and tell me how the developers have other aspects of life to deal with, or how if a better server is wanted, than someone should find it, sarcasm is not necessary, so don't waste my time with replies of that nature.

Everytime I try to attack an NPC, I get a message that the NPC is impervious to attack.  I realize this has to do with the NPC client being down, but how long will it be down?  It was down for several days this past week, then came back on and everything was fine for a day, now it is down again.  What is going on?  It is very hard to progress your character without combat.

While lifting a curse placed by a god may be difficult, it is not impossible; that is part of the reason I suggested the spell be only for high level characters.  Also, I think that if you are able to get into good favor with Dekkru, then she would waive the curse for her loyal followers that die.  As a final comment on the matter, I would like to state the gods do NOT have limitless power, so their magic and curses can be countered.

General Discussion / Mining areas

Just need some mining locations, I seem to have trouble finding them.  I already know sites for gold, emeralds, and rubies; and I know there is platinum in or near Winch, but the gate is not open for me, so I cannot get there presently.  Any help with this would be appreciated, especially tin sites.  Thanks all.

Wish list / Death Realm curse reversal spell.

I know that the time was reduced from hours to just a half hour, but it is well known in the role playing world that every curse can be lifted in some manner.  I recommend a spell to lift this curse for highly advanced players, just to keep everyone from using it.  And also maybe place a limit on how many times the spell can be used in a day, to keep players from running off and getting themselves killed, because they know they can reverse the curse.

I'm assuming that work is being done on the network, because when I start the game it shows "failed" next to fragnetics.  Usually it does this when I am not connected to the internet, but as you can see, my internet connection is working fine.  Has anyone heard about maintenance being performed on the network today?
