Newest NVidia drivers are buggy. Check if older ones work properly.

No, update is one regstration file (not sure the name) and it\'s something about 800KB. Nothing more downloads if you have everything up to date, so your updater is still buggy. Try redownloading your PlaneShift, then if you are absolutely sure that your computer is virus free you can install Planeshift again and start updater.

1st thing - check if you have any viruses and other bugs at your computer. This may cause many bugs - they can\'t be fixed without cleaning out your computer.

2nd thing - what system are you running - without that information nobody can help you.

Well, this is great example of bad bug information. We need to know more to help you.

It so special whem someone is developing the game under Linux. Don\'t forget about binaries for Linux. Compiling takes so much time... 200MB is something like 10 hours on my Athlon 1800+...  ;(  I hope you won\'t treat Linux like an additional operating system. :( Windows is additional one to Linux!

Greets to all Linux users!

Technical Help: Problems BEFORE entering the game / Firewalls and stuff
« on: February 14, 2004, 01:01:07 pm »
Hi!
It would best for me (and the other players) if you gonna allow us to set the port that we want our computers to connect through. My local IP (192.168.0.194) is forwarded to port 28070 which means that I\'m recognized as non-firewall user if someone is trying to connect to me using this port. Anyway, what I ask you is POSSIBILITY TO SET THE PORT THAT I WANT TO CONNECT THROUGH WITH PLANESHIFT SERVER.
I hope that you know what I mean :)
Bye bye from Poland!

General Discussion / Wars, battles and countries in PlaneShift
« on: May 08, 2003, 11:16:36 pm »
Let\'s think about hipothetical situation: one guild decided to control one city and they\'re not lettin\' anyone in because, let\'s say, that\'s the only place where you can get some very rare magical robe. But the other guild thinks that it\'s not right and it\'s their guild that should control the city. And then we have war... Let\'s say that 30 guys on each side and we will see a real virtual battle or even we can take part in that! Completely new thing in the world of computer games! Now tell me that PlaneShift won\'t be special! Who will dare to say that?!

I will say more. Controlled city can became a country where one guild will rule and it\'s gonna be even better if it would be national guild... For example all Germans will be meeting there. Everyone will know that in THIS city you have to speak German or you can be killed by ruling guild members.  :D

Greetings!!!

If you\'ve got some other interesting ideas, please share them with me and others PlaneShift fans just below!

PS. I\'m not German. It was only example.

Right! And some View Distance Control would be nice. I\'ve already posted about that in \"Low detail desperately needed\".

And that\'s good... When I came to PlanShift world everyone was ready to help me. And more - they did! Now I\'m always ready to help any newbie that I walk into.  Maybe it\'s a kind of feedback? Anyway it\'s nice... Greetings to all PLANESHIFT fans!  :D

After all I\'ve seen I have no doubts that PLaneShift will be amazing (it is already!!!) and I believe that you won\'t forget about people like me, with lower CPU power. <--- that\'s what i wanted to say in the not finished line. GREETINGS!

I really love what you do, guys, but I\'m the owner of weak PC (Intel Celeron 500Mhz, 256 Mb Ram, GeForce 2 64 Mb Ram) which doesn\'t allow me to fully enjoy this great game. I\'d like to ask you about something like view distance (a thingy that would shorten what I see in the game) and also to make it look more smooth some fog. Good example is Morrowind, which has great graphics and works really good with my hardware. After all I\'ve already seen I\'m sure that you will do

That\'s all! I really admire your work, I love the idea of PlaneShift, love the way it looks, love what\'s already done! Keep up good work! So sorry that I can\'t help you... :(
