Complaint Department / Re: IC baddies vs OOC goodies

What would you prefer -

1.  A player who stumbles across an event & calls his guildmembers in to join in the event, or

2. The player doesn't call in his buddies because he's afraid he'll be accused of not plaing fair, only to read in the forums about how role-playing is dead & no one comes to join events any more??

Yes I agree that players should read other's descriptions & act accordingly (the player doesn't know the hooded figure's name, etc). However, if you want people to join in and role-play with you, you will have to anticipate someone calling in his cavalry!

Keep in mind that there are baddies out there who do their fair (or should I say unfair?  ;) ) share of ooc. The problem comes from all directions.

If you want a lot of players involved in your rp, don't complain about the use of chats to bring others in!! Instead, focus your energies on finding a way to educate players about the more basic rules of roleplaying - in my opinion, that would make your naughty adventures more enjoyable for yourself. :)

*sigh.

I guess I'm just being impatient. I've run to all the places & npc's i thought might give me information (including the two you speak of) but have come to no avail. What i was hoping for was not directly an answer, but rather a nudge in the right direction (it's a skill i need, it's a quest item, someone sells it, etc. :whistling:). My impatience is because there is a special event coming up for my character very, very soon & it would have been wonderful to have such a thing as a working fire there. I'm sure there will be other events.

Thanks for your time! :)

so how are we supposed to implement an item which is brand-new and none of the other guinea pigs (heh sorry, players) know how to use? Apparently there is no one in-game to ask!!

Hi all,
I was wondering/hoping/praying someone might give us some insight on how to aquire fire? I know we're supposed to ask these questions in-game, but i've only found one person with a fire & he won't tell how he got it unless I give him 10k tria!   :'(

Since this is such a new thing and (almost) no one in-game knows how to implement it, would a little hint posted here be a bad thing?  :flowers:

Thanks!  :)

I have a cable modem. Speedtest.net just measured the speed for downloading at 6692kb/s & uploading at 2028kb/s. A ping sent ~300 miles was 11ms.

I downloaded the game (for the first time) last week. It's 0.4.0.0 Steel Blue.

The computer is connected to a router via wire. The router is connected to the cable modem also via wire.

There's two software firewalls: Windows & McAfee. I've already given permission for Port 7777. (the two programs are probably a bit overkill, eh? :))

Could memory play a factor in this as well? I'm in the process of upgrading to 1GB, but right now I have a slug-slow setup of 256MB.

To Master Listbard: They say that's what sells, right? It must - it got you to read my message!

Hi All,
I have been unable to get into the game for three days now. When I get to the logon screen, Fragnetics will have numbers flashing next to it (usually somewhere between 250 & 400). I will also see the word "failed" occasionally flicker in between the numbers, but it's usually only for a second or two. BTW, does anyone what those numbers mean?

I can log in & pick my character, but then within a few minutes in I'll get the message "Server is not responding, try again in 5 minutes. Check http://laanx.fragnetics.com for status." My computer doesn't get the chance to finish "loading world".

I've gone through all the forums & tried every suggestion offered with no luck. I have Windows XP Home. Has anyone been able to play the game in the past three days or am I one of the unfortunate few? If it isn't the server crashing, what am I doing wrong?

Thanks for your time,
