Yea, I've actually always wondered why the updater was separate.   The thing is, though, is that when a new version of the game is released, the update mirror isn't up-to-date right away, so having the updater run after you've installed a new release would seriously break things.

Of course, far in the future of development, I can see this being implemented.

Oh well.   Being mid-day in Singapore, that means their weekend ends faster, right?   So the server might be up sooner.

Here's an idea:

I'm currently making a character (or trying to) named Seryn Wolfblade, but the name Seryn is already taken, as is 'Serin'.

So I thought of using middle names.   These could have no importance whatsoever other than each middle name must be unique.   That way, characters can have the same first and last name (last name can still have the warning so that you don't go messing with families).   /tell and other things that use the first name can use either all three names at once (ex: Seryn Reigald Wolfblade), the first and middle names, or simply the middle name.

Nope, not dead. :P

I'm coming back as I type, actually, although as Seryn Wolfblade, who in my opinion is much more interesting than Avaloth.   Problem is, 'Seryn' and 'Serin' are taken already.
* Seryn scuttles off to figure it out before his off-topic posts can ruin the greatness of the thread.
