Technical Help: Problems BEFORE entering the game / EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION?

I have windows vista and all my drivers, vid cards, etc. an everything on my comp is up to date, there is one firewall running from Norton (some antivirus protection thing that came with comp) , windows firewall is off.
I installed the game in administrative mode and not in that mode, ive patched the game in administrative mode, and ive ran the game in administrative mode and not in the mode and i still get the EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION error message.
Ive Reinstalled multiple times (and unistalled multiple times), downloaded installer from multiple sites, and dont know what to do.
Any ideas or suggestions out there? Im out of ideas lol.
