From mi side of view, think that at least @player suggerences is very apointed. since it will help more to those who really want to help on an Server Stress Test.
use of Vlagrind could be  helpfull for @testers who are reading this Thread.

As far as i readed, im only seeing  a few suggerences, that should be evaluated and take in consideration (if apply).

You only need to wear that ring one time.
After you wear it, then call /pet summon , name your pet and unwear it.
That will be the only time that you will need to wear that ring.  I used it (i just use it one time), but im not experienced such problems.

I see there's almost full agreement so far in this thread.

It is fun to see and perhaps be part of these moments. I see we all like it and get such rush out of it.

Unfortunatelly, I have a question:

Why is it ok for a NPC, mob, etc.. to just attack you (and you love it so much!) and not erm... a fellow player?

Don't take me wrong.. I also thought of some answers but I want to listen first.

I thinks that my answer must be in another place, but as you asked it here:

That will be ok, when an penalization system for law's brokers exists.


By example, when you have certains amount of player's kill (that depends upon if you started the fight) you will be prosecuted by your acts or if you manage to scape, you will be chased by the guards (ones specialzed for this job with a cuttroat strengh like if you resists to the arrest ;D) everytime that you enter the ville, where you have reached the Kill limit.  The ban will be only for those villes/citys where you reached your Kill limit.

The only way to remove this city ban is expending some  anoying time in the Jail .  \\o//

Few days ago, there was an surprise Mob's riot in Platinum mine... Cuttroath ,Huge tefus and Image Consumer \\o//
I enjoyed it, i agree that feature must be implemented soon as possible. (often)  :thumbup:

Anyway, since i am pretty new in PS im still enjoying RPing so much and i hope continue enjoying as i get old in this. :D

What about an penalization?

Example, if a Thief ( Person who like stole things  from others) get caught ( Duel by example), he/she has to pay an penalization ( not necessary DR), maybe a Locked House where he/she have to be at least 10 days (game time) isolated, thinking about he/she has done. \\o// Inside that locked house will be anothers NPC's (    
prisoners) tha would "entertain"  such player make him some riddles... Also can be an Guard that under certains circunstance he can leave the prisoner (PC) escape.

I think crimes should have a fitting penalty. If someone tries to steel some trias from me, I guess in Hydlaa it would not be OK if I killed the person in return. There should be some way for me to capture the thief (a duel not ending in death as suggested for example), and the thief would then be send to that prison map UtM is designing in his head :). If I do not manage to capture him, at least I would have seen him and some faction would be affected. There would be a small chance (depending on how easy it is to get to the stolen object) of not seeing the item being stolen, in which case the thief would just walk away. For that I would like the possibility of using inventory with different 'openness' though.

Sorry Lanarel i didnt read all the posts.. but im glad to know that we share the sames principles.
As you,  i Think that all kind of crimes must be penalized.

Why can't attempting to pickpocket set the "accept duel" flag silently?  Someone tries to pickpocket and the attempt is the same as agreeing to duel the person if caught.

It would be nice if there was a perception check to see if you notice the attempt to pickpocket.  Could be based on INT or WIS or both without adding a new stat.

So it would work like this:

Char X:  /pickpocket Char Y
Char Y does a perception check and fails.
Char X receives Item, "You steal 1 sack."

or...

Char X:  /pickpocket Char Y
Char Y does a perception check and succeeds.
Char Y gets a message, "Char X has attempted to pick your pocket, Duel?  Yes/No"
If "Yes", duel begins.
If "No", you can shout, "help me, I've been robbed!" as Char X runs off.

I either case, there is a chance the item was in fact taken.  In a pen and paper rpg, I would determine this by how much the perception check was succeeded by.  If Char Y, just barely made the role, the item has changed ownership (Char Y, noticed the attempt once the item was removed form the pocket).  But if Char Y made the role by a bunch, I'd say Char Y actually caught Char X in the attempt, Red Handed so to speak.

See?  Simple.

Damm.. im out of shape with Linux Boxes ( i had a feud with   ;) )
Such errors are related with.:
  • Invalid header configurations.
  • Dirty sources ( you need to do a "make clean" before try to compile them)
  • ldconfig  library dependences.
  • make deps at the kernel sources dir. As far as i know ubuntu doesnt need it, but who knows  :sweatdrop: 

Really all that i can say is speculation since i havent right now a linbox... X-/ i will try later when i get one. :)

Well as far as i know, if u are sure that you've just downloaded the latest kernel headers..
do you have made the simbolik link to those headers?

im refers to /usr/src/linux-(header version)-(architecture) to /usr/src/linux ? // Replace (Header) and (archictecture) with your specs. you can obtain that info with  uname -v

most drivers out there uses that location to be more compatible with all distros out there.
Anyway, i will try to give you more info later (if that doesnt help), since im not currently in a  Linux Box.

I have some theories about your problem Vornne (also your memory included). but my main theory is not about memory.. hope fixes into the next release.
ah, no more load wait... next Release, i will implement Threads.

About Linux.. you can do an soft Link to you log file and put it in a place where the program can read the log file.
from a command shell:

ln -s .Planeshift/log/yourchar.log     $HOME

Really i put that for info only.. i didnt use that for my "guess NPC algorithm".
Since this is an unnoficcial app (not PS Game dev related), i thinks shouldnt be a problem for planeshift community. Also if where a problem, all NPC's in PS Game are clearly stated with different Label Color(cyan)  and this App doesnt reveal NPC Location.
