The Hydlaa Plaza / Re: PR, Marketing or Sales Professionals

By PR and marketing, do you perhaps mean publicity?  I consider publicity to be one aspect of public relations, but I consider public relations to include many kinds of interactions and responsibilities, publicity being only one of them.  Public relations includes everything from conflict resolution and community building to message control and customer (or client) service (and inquiries).

Marketing can also be looked at as the practice of building personal relationships, both within and outside your organization.  You want to connect to your client, your industry, and the individuals connecting you to the end users.

I'd also say that marketing isn't the same thing as publicity, marketing itself is just another aspect of public relations, and publicity is included in your marketing strategy.  Marketing can mean your entire strategy from designing your product to communicating it to your market and then delivering it to clients, and your marketing strategy can even include the consumer experience after the clients have the product in their possession and are using it.  Publicity more specifically means mentions in outside press.

I think for all these things, excellent communication skills are a very high priority.  While confidence is always important, it's also possible to come across as too strong or aggressive.  Coming across as professional and dedicated is also important.  That can mean triple checking your spelling and punctuation, or writing in the style appropriate to your audience.  It shows clients and coworkers that you care, and it reflects better on the product or service you're representing.

Edit, I just noticed that you weren't asking for tips.  I apologize, I misread your post the first time through.

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

I'm looking for a word processor that my relative with cerebral palsy can use to write.  His mind is intact and he's very intelligent, but his motor functions are severely impaired due to an accident he suffered after birth.  He has already written a book with the help of an aide, and he can communicate using the Bliss system as well as touch screens using the limited control he does have over his body.  But it would be really great if we found a computer program he can use to type on his own.

Does anyone know of such a program?  A touch screen version of the Bliss program would be ideal, but anything with very large icons on a screen that he can use to type words will work, especially if those icons include lists of common words.  We have no preference between commercial and opensource.

Even if you don't have any recommendations, thank you for reading this.  All help is appreciated.
