I agree, which is why Permissions repair is part of the nightly automated backup routine to the NAS.   :)

A manual execution of Disk Utility reveals no permission issues.

The log file is 12K in size.  How much of the first and last part do you want, 100 lines, 200 lines, or everything up to a certain point and after a certain point?

I have again downloaded and reinstalled the program as well as reapplying all the other fixes.  The problem persists.

This has been done.  Display produced an interesting mosaic of shapes just before the freeze.

Yes, I am running as an administrator and I have changed the Vertex Buffering setting from Default to Off.

I experience difficulties running this client.  Invariably the graphics display will freeze up (game mouse pointer will not move, animations seize up, sound will go into a loop), usually within 5 to 35 minutes of game play.  This happens in both fullscreen and windowed mode.  Once this occurs the only way to regain control of the system is to power down and restart the hardware.  Often upon restart the notice will be displayed that "The system was powered down after Mac OS X quit unexpectedly."

I have followed the various suggestions posted in:

A Guide to Running Planeshift on Mac OS X
ATI Xa600 graphics card work-around
Planeshift 0.4 (Steel Blue) ready for OSX
Mac Client Status

and the file README-osx located in the PlaneShift download.  I Have even downloaded and installed the version 2.0 toolkit from NVIDIA.

Mac OSX Specific Issues / Re: ATI X1600 graphics card work-around

This fix appears to have solved the problem of graphics freezes/game lockups on my Mac Pro with a ATI Radeon X1900 XT card as well. 

EDIT *    I was wrong.  They just occur at irregular intervals.  Please disregard this post. :oops:
