Oh, not at all, I just planned on copying the .PlaneShift settings/etc. directory from my home directory, as well as the .cfg files. I'll be sure to get the 32-bit x86 installer.

Thanks for your help as well Nykolai.

Indeed, I nearly forgot about that. But if I just copy the .cfg files and the $HOME/.PlaneShift dir, everything should work reasonably well?
Easier than I thought, then.

Thanks for your response, Caarrie, I appreciate the help. I'll test it out once I have time, and I'll holler if I've any problems.

Linux Specific Issues / Installation on multiple computers

Hi everyone,

I've a question about installing PlaneShift on another computer. I currently have PS installed on my desktop, but I want to put it on my laptop as well. How would I go about, in effect, cloning the installation I have on my desktop for my laptop? Will a fresh install on the laptop plus a copy of my psclient.cfg (slightly tweaked as necessary, of course) suffice, or is there something more I need to do? I know my way around a computer, of course, but I just want to make sure the settings transfer over and I thought I'd ask here.

The source computer runs the x86-64/amd64 build of PlaneShift on Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex 8.10, and it's an OEM desktop.
The target computer will run the i386 build, also on Intrepid Ibex 8.10, on a Dell Inspiron 1525n laptop.

Any help would be appreciated. Let me know if you need any more information.

Thanks,
Grey

I suppose it's fitting that I introduce myself to the forums with a picture. Saw this thread and couldn't resist.
