Let me write more on this just to clarify:

1. Currently, the system checks the characters stats (int,str etc) before h/she can wield that certain weapon. For example seduction weapons etc. If the character satisfies that criteria, then he/she can wield that weapon and thereby get the stat boosters associated with that weapon.

2. So to extrapolate, maybe the system can deduct the character's race and then give booster.

3. "Born to wield" maybe the wrong phrase. What I meant was the above...the stat boosters happen based on race deduction.

4. So..for example the "Enkis Short Sword" gives boosters to Enkis Sword skills while the "Ywnnn Short Sword" to the Ywnns.

5. How hard one creates damages with such weapons will depend on their base stats and skill level plus the booster.

6. The weapons can be loots based on whatever 'randomness thats still balancing'  :-X


As far as trading/bartering,obviously the Enkis will trade the swords that dont boost their skills (but does for Ywnns) for ones that do the trick for themselves.  Hopefully things wont get too complicated than that :P

Quests provide a way to improve ur faction numbers and also provide you some 'material' reward. It would be great if the player has a choice of whether he/she wants the 'material' reward or stats or skills. It provides a great way to avoid the grinding just to gain additional stats or skills.

For example, I learn to use my sword on rats and then go on to mercs, clackers,rogues, trepors et al. I dont need to do this 'grind'
just because I want to see my sword level go up from 10 to 20. I would rather take an ardous quest that sends me all over Yliakum, to be finally rewarded some 'x' skill levels at the end of it. It is way more fun than grinding zilllion tefusangs in the arena.

It just gives an alternate to the same monotony and maybe 'powerleveling' would become 'powerquesting'. I guess thats more closer to roleplaying ::)

The idea maybe about saying you were born to wield this type of weapon. Maybe each race can have its own "special" racial weapon to achieve balance. The "special" weapon could give "special" attributes to wielders of that race alone..maybe even strike like a crafted weapon when someone from that race uses it.

Merchants would forsee a lot of trading with such mechanics and its great way to 'bartering'.

Wish list / Re: Bury and Dig Treasure commands aka Archeology

We have ruins in Yliakum and also an Archeologist NPC. It would be good to have Archeology as a craft/job. The mechanics for the same exists in most parts already in the game:

a. Dig command - You probably need another command like /explore or something with another toolset instead of the rockpick (maybe shovel???)

b. The Loot mechanics to throw up hidden treasures (amulets, rings, glyphs, weapons, books etc)

c. The landscape is so vast...that the wilderness is such a great place for "Explorers"

Im not sure abt the bury treasure and dig it later .....seems complicated. My wish is quiet elementary  :)
